A not so inncoent race
2009 Acrylic on Steel 122 x 92cm
Sigmund Freud explains mankind's nature as Homo Homini Lupus (man is a wolf to man). Freud witnessed the atrocities of the First World War, and with this as the backdrop, his view of man is an evil one and that all men are innately evil
and aggression lies within as a part of his nature.
To accept this leaves little hope for mankind, unless acceptance is just the beginning. If we are born without innocence, then we have something to fight against, challenge, and hopefully change.
We are; “A not so innocent race”.
Now let us do something about it.
