This painting is based off Gillie and Marc's monumental bronze installation depicting the greatest animal march on the planet, it will feature 60 of the world’s most endangered species led by a great mountain gorilla, one of our closest relatives, marching together to save the animal kingdom by re-wilding the world. Inspired by the witness statement and latest documentary by David Attenborough, this sculpture is on a mission to re-wild the world. For such a big and important issue there needs to be a big messenger. Therefore, this public sculpture experience will be the largest bronze sculpture in the world at 192 meters in length, the next largest being the Statue of Unity’ at 182 meters.

At the front of the march will be a great silverback mountain gorilla, the head of his family who will do anything to protect them. He reaches out his hand, inviting the public to take hold and join him as he marches to protect his wild family. Holding on to him will be a chimp and the rest of the animals will link together in a single procession. This northern white rhino is third animal in the march.

Chuckles the Chimp had his name for a reason. He loved to laugh. He laughed a lot, finding the funny side of everything. The Coyotes that constantly seemed to be multiplying always managed to get there first. Rex was hungry but he was determined to come up with a solution. He just hoped he could come up with one soon.

But with a fire inside his belly, he charges forth, full of passion in his fight for survival. Even though it may seem hopeless he knows it will all be ok in the end if he can just keep that fire lit. He was bold and beautiful.

This leopard is very special. She is an Amur leopard and there are only 84 of her kind left in the wild. High in her forest, she tries her best to blend into her surroundings. She likes to be left alone yet the humans always seem to be moving nearer. She must also be careful of those humans who like to hide, guns at the ready, eyes only on her coat rather than the living creature it belongs to. She wishes they would learn to love her instead.

He could feel it running through his body like electricity, bursting through the ends of his fur with sparks. This was not the end for him, he was going to survive and was ready for anything.

This artwork comes with a powerful message. It was inspired by Gillie and Marc's trip to Kenya to visit the last three northern white rhinos on earth, who humans have poached to imminent extinction. Sadly, Sudan, the last remaining male northern white rhino died in March 2018. The artists have dedicated their lives to creating a legacy of these rhinos through their art, with the aims of raising critical awareness to save future species. Here Sudan lives on, strong and beautiful. Even though he has gone he will forever be here in our hearts.
