K Day

Berlin-based artist K Day is the new kid on the block when it comes to abstract expressionism. Painting in thick, raw brushstrokes, K Day evokes emotions that come from deep within. 

K Day is fascinated with the brain. Studying actual brainwaves he began to translate his own onto canvas. By taking himself into various emotional states with the help of music, K Day is able to create a visual representation of the connections of his mind. By putting it on canvas, he can help to make sense of his patterns of thinking as well as his emotional states.

Inspired by the greats of the abstract expressionist world such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Franz Kline, K Day creates works depicting his most raw emotions. Utilizing colour and space, K Day creates an overall feeling in his paintings rather than one focused on form.
