This gorgeous sculpture celebrates the lives of Sudan, Najin and Fatu – the last three Northern White Rhinos. It’s modelled after Gillie and Marc’s iconic The Last Three installed in the heart of New York City, and their wildly popular bronze maquette titled, The Last Three on Earth. This sculpture addresses serious themes, while acknowledging that even in the bleakest situations hope can be found. The three rhinos are stacked on top of each other representing the fragility of the species, and delicate balance it takes to keep rhinos alive. At the same time, Gillie and Marc have created them in white, just like angels looking over us. They did this to acknowledge the inspiring strides that have recently been made for rhino conservation, and the hope that the Northern White Rhinos created for all other rhino species – just like guardian angels. The fact is that, even though there is a battle to be won against endangerment, there are millions of people around the world who are ready to fight for the animals who need our help. This sculpture is one facet that’s giving a voice to the voiceless, in a beautiful and unique way that will add dimension and beauty to any home.
