Gillie’s artistic tendencies started when she was a little girl living in Africa. She would draw pencil sketches of the wildlife in Zambia. Meanwhile, as a boy Marc would frequently visit Melbourne Zoo with his father so he could paint all the animals there. When the artists first met they stayed up all night talking about art and adventure. They quickly realised that they were kindred spirits. Dogman and Rabbitgirl are also kindred spirits. They fell for each other hard and fast. After the initial excitement wore off, they discovered they loved each other more than they thought was possible. Dogman and Rabbitgirl bring out the best in one another, because they are the perfect fit.

This love for vespas started when the artists first visited Rome and came across the scooter riders known as the Motorini. On their return to Sydney they even bought a vespa for themselves. Ear piercings are one of the oldest known forms of body modifications. Earrings can be dated back as far as ancient Persia, ancient Egypt and has even been referenced in the bible. Having your ears pierced is also a coming-of-age ritual in various cultures all over the world. When Marc was 20 and living in Israel he asked his friend to pierce four holes in his right ear. Marc made all his own jewellery and would mix up the colours and materials. When he took his first corporate job, he decided to take out his earrings, but he still can be seen wearing them from time to time.
