How do I look after my painting?
Display your painting in a stable environment with a consistent temperature and away from direct sunlight. LED lighting is recommended, as it does not emit heat or UV rays that can affect the artwork over time.
When handling, hold the painting by the edges, hanging wire, or stretcher bar, and wear gloves where possible. Lightly dust the surface with a microfibre cloth. Do not use solvents or cleaning products.

How do I care for gold leaf paintings?
Gold leaf is an extremely delicate material made from finely hammered gold. When handling or installing your artwork, always wear plain cotton gloves to prevent fingerprints or surface damage.
There are fingerprints on my gold leaf painting, what can I do?
Use a very soft, clean kabuki makeup brush and gently brush the affected area in a light circular motion. Over time, the mark should gradually dissipate.
My sculpture has a few imperfections, is this normal?
Yes. All Gillie and Marc artworks are handcrafted, meaning each piece is unique. Subtle variations and surface characteristics are a natural part of the artistic process and contribute to the individuality of the work.
I hear something rattling inside my bronze sculpture, what is it?
This is typically caused by a small piece of loose bronze inside the sculpture from the casting process. It is completely normal and does not affect the structural integrity of the artwork.
I have an issue with an artwork that I need help with. What should I do?
We understand that occasionally issues or accidental damage may occur. Our team is here to help and will do everything we can to assist you. Please contact us at: gallery@gillieandmarc.com

My Resin/Fibreglass sculpture has been damaged at home and a piece has broken off. What do I do?
We recommend using a Megapoxy adhesive for repairs, as it is highly effective for resin and fibreglass. For smaller areas, a high-quality super glue can also be suitable.
If the break is clean, the piece can often be reattached seamlessly. If needed, a small amount of high-gloss enamel paint can be used to touch up the repaired area.
There seems to be a lot of packaging used to ship my sculpture. Is this necessary?
We take great care in packaging every artwork to ensure it arrives safely. Sculptures are carefully protected with specialised materials to prevent damage during transit.
If you are unable to reuse the packaging, you are welcome to return it to us so we can reuse it wherever possible. We are continually working to reduce our environmental impact, and improving our packaging is an important part of that commitment.
