A sculptural welcome for students at Macquarie Park
Created especially for Centurion Group's new student accommodation, this trio of sculptures — a turtle, kangaroo, and echidna — forms a gentle, welcoming exhibition designed to celebrate learning, belonging, and everyday moments of pause.
Each animal reflects an aspect of student life.
The kangaroo sits quietly with a laptop, symbolising focus, ambition, and the courage it takes to step into something new. The echidna reads and relaxes nearby, reminding us that rest and curiosity go hand in hand. The turtle offers a sense of calm and grounding, encouraging students to move at their own pace and feel at home in their surroundings.
Together, these sculptures create a shared space that feels human, inclusive, and approachable — a place where students can sit, reflect, meet friends, or simply take a breath between classes. More than public artworks, these pieces are companions to daily life. They transform the landscape into a living campus experience, reinforcing that this is not just accommodation — it’s a community.
Perfectly aligned with student living, the exhibition champions learning, wellbeing, accessibility, and connection, offering a gentle reminder that everyone belongs here — and that growth happens best in environments filled with care, creativity, and quiet moments of joy.
