Gillie and Marc's Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog and Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit are playful yet thought-provoking sculptures that explore our fascination with fame, recognition, and the moments that define our lives. Emerging unexpectedly from manholes with cameras poised, Dogman and Rabbitwoman invite visitors to pause, smile, and become part of the artwork itself. Whether capturing a photograph or simply sharing a moment of curiosity, the sculptures blur the line between observer and participant, transforming every passerby into the star of their own story.
The camera is a powerful symbol throughout these works. While it represents the excitement of celebrity culture and the thrill of being noticed, it also speaks to something much deeper—the ability each of us has to capture, share, and celebrate what makes us unique. In today's world, everyone has the opportunity to tell their story, showcase their passions, and inspire others. Dogman and Rabbitwoman remind us that our greatest achievements don't come from seeking fame itself, but from having the courage to express who we are and embrace the opportunities that life presents.
Installed within the beautiful surroundings of Ninigret Park, these sculptures encourage interaction, laughter, and reflection. Visitors are invited to step into the scene, pose alongside the beloved characters, and create memories with family and friends. Every photograph taken becomes part of the artwork's ongoing story, celebrating connection, creativity, and the joy of shared experiences.
Gillie and Marc are internationally renowned for creating public art that brings people together while championing wildlife conservation. Through their iconic hybrid characters, Dogman and Rabbitwoman, they use humour, optimism, and storytelling to spark conversations about kindness, equality, and our relationship with the natural world. Their sculptures have become cherished landmarks across the globe, inviting millions of people to interact with art in an accessible and meaningful way.
On display at Ninigret Park for one year, Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog and Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit are a celebration of imagination, human connection, and the belief that everyone has a story worth telling. They encourage us to step confidently into our own spotlight—not for fame itself, but to share our talents, passions, and authentic selves with the world. In doing so, they remind us that the moments we capture, the memories we create, and the positive impact we have on others are what leave a truly lasting legacy.
