Busker, waiter and Dad

Gladstone Park Shopping Centre, VIC

Designed to appeal to the diversity of Gladstone Shopping Centre’s patrons, Family, Coffee and Fun is a series of three sculptures, each a different breed of dog. To reflect the multicultural make up of those who shop at Gladstone Park Gillie and Marc were asked to use a range of different breeds. They chose a Great Dane dogman (holding a cappuccino), a Labrador dogman (as a busker with a guitar) and a Weimaraner dogman (as a father with twin sons). These different – but equal – dogs let everyone know they’re in an inclusive place. All sculptures are two metres tall.
