Art draws every dog and hare to Adelaide Central Plaza

A BRONZE sculpture of a hare and a dog sipping coffee together is part of a plan to bring the theatre back into shopping at Adelaide Central Plaza. The sculptures were part of creating a new environment similar to some of the successful and iconic department stores around the world like Harrods and Selfridges in London.
“You go there to touch and feel, it’s the theatre, good retail in the next 10 to 20 years will have to go back to theatre,” he said.
“The artwork is part of where we see ourselves going forward.”
A book placed near the new sculpture called The Coffee Drinkers, created by husband and wife artists Gillie and Marc Schattner, invites shoppers to write their comments.
