Description Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

Each bold line and bright hue captures the excitement of a world where compassion conquers fear. This artwork invites viewers to imagine their own heroic journey with Rabbitwoman and Dogman leading the way.
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.

We Are One
Gillie and Marc’s passion for wildlife and conservation lead them to immediately accept their invitation to paint one of 45 public sculptures as part of Taronga Zoo’s Wild Rhino exhibition that ran from February to April in 2013. The exhibition introduced 45 Rhino sculptures to the streets of Sydney, each of them adorned with an artistic flair from a local artist. All profits from the auctioned sculptures went to Taronga Zoo’s Rhino breeding and conservation programs. Their contribution focuses on the nature between humans and animals; as zygotes in the womb all animals (including humans) look the same. Gillie and Marc also wanted to draw attention to the estimated figures that annual Rhino death rates will soon overtake their birth rates.

These rhinos are doing just that. In a world where they are constantly hunted for their precious horns, worth their weight in gold on the black market, it is so important that there is someone on the ground to look out for them. For too long the rhino has been forced to fend for itself. But we can make a real difference, becoming the support they so desperately need and helping them to fly once more.

Location South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula
Description South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula has a rich history with the grains industry and the community of Cummins wanted to recognize their past with a piece of public art. The physical efforts of the wheat lumper was critical to loading and unloading wheat bags at the railway siding throughout the Eyre Peninsula. A small park known as the Railway Triangle is also a part of the town’s heritage. Gillie and Marc decided to honour both these things by installing their sculpture of a Wheat Lumber in the park. The sculpture pays tribute to the men who used to carry and stack bags of wheat, often up for 90 kilograms, for transportation. The idea came following the release of the book, Grain Handling: The Way It Was by the late Jim Cronin. These men were instrumental in feeding the people of Australia through their hard work and dedication. Incorporating historical public art enriches a location, giving it context through the careful selection of site-specific pieces that tell an inspiring story.

Inspired by the ancient methods of gold leaf and the more contemporary styles of Gustav Klimt, Gillie and Marc are showing the loving journeys of their favourite muses and all endangered wildlife with an extra bit of sparkle. Gold leaf sheets are carefully laid onto the canvas, brushed, and smoothed out, adding a wonderful, glittery effect to its surface. Gillie and Marc believe that every moment can be a luxury. This idea is brought to life in these paintings, with even the simplest moments becoming incredible.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

Description "Who Loves Lemons" by Gillie and Marc, features Dogman and Rabbitwoman sharing the weight of an oversized lemon, symbolizing partnership, balance, and the sweetness of life. The playful yet thought-provoking imagery, paired with a vibrant urban-inspired background, adds a surreal and whimsical touch. Their signature pop-art style once again blends storytelling with bold colors, making the piece both eye-catching and meaningful.
Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. Recently inspired by the pop style of Andy Warhol and the iconic stencils of street artists Banksy and Mr. Brainwash, Gillie and Marc expanded their collection with the edgy addition of using spray paint stencils on their canvases. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description This baby rock wallaby is an artist when it comes to hopping around the inhospitable rocky mountainsides. She has been spending a lot of time practising, learning to leap with such precision and speed. But despite her impressive acrobatics, her kind is disappearing. With every wallaby lost to an introduced predator, she feels another splash of paint blotting out her future. She hopes she can find a way to stop the brush strokes from falling.
