TRAVEL WITH LOVE A life-changing global art project, that will unite the world together A SAD STORY Tensions and instability between borders are rising, with the world being increasingly clouded by fear and discrimination. The trend towards open and friendly multi-culturalism took a big hit in 2017, with an increase in travel advisories and groups of people being barred from certain countries. It’s an incredibly sad and frightening time. Discrimination based on religion, race, and national origin is at an all-time high, causing many to worry about the safety of leaving their homes. Barriers are being used to divide us. The global rise in nationalism has led people to feel they can no longer travel places where they once felt happy and welcome. It seems the world is forgetting that, as humans, we’re all the same. We’re all in this together.   WHO ARE GILLIE AND MARC? Gillie and Marc, referred to by the media as “the world’s most loving artists” are extraordinary public artists who have worked side-by-side for over 25-years to create art as one. Their monumental bronze sculptures spread the message of love and conservation in major galleries and cities around the world, including New York, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney and more! The artists and activists are best known for their beloved hybrid characters – Rabbitwoman and Dogman – who tell the autobiographical tale of two opposites coming together to become best friends and soulmates. Their art has raised hundreds of thousands in donations for the many wildlife charities and causes they support.   A HAPPY ENDING: TRAVEL WITH LOVE  Travel with Love is a global public art project that’s re-uniting the world. In the face of closing borders, it stands for keeping minds open and love flowing. Gillie and Marc are creating interactive bronze sculptures featuring their iconic characters for leading cities across the world. When people see the familiar and beloved Rabbitwoman and Dogman in a city, they’ll know that they’re welcome there. As unlikely animal kingdom companions, the Rabbit and the Dog represent diversity and togetherness. Without a definitive race, religion, or culture, they symbolize all people as one. In response to the worldwide plight of refugees and immigrants, and changing border control policies, Travel with Love has been created as a stand for global unity. Connected by the public art project, each visitor (traveller and resident alike) will feel like next door neighbours. Understanding the significance of the travelling hybrid duo, those who come across them will know that the hosting location believes in peace, harmony, and progress. IT’S GLOBAL Travel with Love has already begun, with dozens of organizations and cities across the globe expressing significant interest in this important project. The project was originally kicked off in New York City earlier this year, when an installation of the larger-than-life Paparazzi Dogman and Paparazzi Rabbitgirl was installed on Avenue of the Americas. “We are honored that Gillie and Marc chose to install these impressive and striking sculptures on the Avenue,” said Rockefeller Group Senior Vice President Bill Edwards. “These sculptures will not be missed, and their message will resonate for anyone who has the opportunity to see them. The sculptures are an excellent fit for the Avenue, which was created to honor the business and cultural ties between all the countries and cultures throughout North and South America. Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.

Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.

They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
