Description High above the clouds, we can look down at the earth, watching the ant-sized antelopes crossing the Serengeti or the monumental trees of the Virunga forests descending to the size of broccoli. It’s a unique perspective that helps us to really appreciate the beautiful interconnectedness of everything. We are all tiny, but together we are huge.
Some of Gillie and Marc’s fondest memories have been looking at the world from this perspective, flying above some of nature's marvels in an aeroplane. They have taken thousands of photos of wildlife from above, flying across some of the most spectacular landscapes of Africa.
Now they have transformed these experiences into their very first exhibition of sculpture wall art. In a spectacular experiment combining traditional 2D paintings with sculpture, Gillie and Marc have recreated exactly how it feels to view these wild scenes from the sky. The tiny rhinos pop out of the wall as they go about their day, and the zebra herds gallop beyond the frame as they cross the plains of canvas to the unknown. Above A Wild World gives us a new perspective, capturing the very essence of what a bright future for all wildlife could look like.
Artwork Features This groundbreaking new style of sculpture wall art is merging the practices of sculpture and traditional paintings, creating a unique 3D work that conveniently hangs on your wall. By incorporating objects or cloth on the canvas with ample impasto, these works become so much more than just a painting. Finished off with either paint or spray paint, the final product transcends the constraints of both traditional sculpture and painting to create a work of depth and substance.

A composer of great renown, his marches were published throughout the world and the Americans acclaimed him as ‘the Sousa of the Antipodes’. Lithgow produced approximately two hundred marches, as well as numerous pieces for band, orchestra, piano and voice. The artists wanted to honour his time in Invercargill, where he spent time from ages 6-24.

Description This monumental bronze sculpture invites viewers into a whimsical, heartwarming celebration of unity and diversity in the natural world. At its center, a grand banquet table stretches in bronze splendor, laden with intricate, oversized dishes of fruit, grains, and delicacies—a feast abundant enough to honor all.
Seated at the table are two central figures: Rabbitwoman and Dogman, anthropomorphic embodiments of kindness and collaboration, their postures animated with warmth and welcoming gestures. Surrounding them, a dazzling array of birds—each meticulously detailed to capture the unique beauty of their plumage and form—join the feast. The diversity of bird life is celebrated, with each species finding its place at the table.
The birds are not merely passive observers; some perch on the edge of the seats others peck curiously at the offerings, while a few take flight above, their wings forming an enchanting canopy. The interplay of grounded and airborne figures conveys a sense of movement and life, as if the feast is frozen in an eternal moment of joy.
There are 3 empty seats inviting the public to join the feast and become supporters of our natural world.
"All Birds Were Welcomed to Feast with Rabbitwoman and Dogman" is a testament to harmony among species, a reminder of the beauty in diversity, and a call to cherish and protect the natural world. It is a celebration of life and the interconnectedness of all creatures, told through a magical, timeless gathering.

With a close up of Australia’s most threatened bird and one of the world’s rarest parrots, the orange-bellied parrot, this unique form of conservation lets us see the last 50 wild individuals left on the planet with a beautiful close up.
“It can be difficult to imagine what extinction looks like so we wanted to create a work that would help the public visually understand what this means,” explains Gillie.
With 50 stunning paintings, the artists have captured the dwindling numbers of this endangered parrot in a series that can all fit on one wall. It is a sobering exhibit to help bring understanding to this important issue and inspire conservation.

Description Amber is the unquestionable Queen of the jungle. She knows every tiny bit of her domain, prowling through with precision and grace. All the other creatures revere her, giving her the space she needs to be happy. But there are some who don’t treat her with respect. They are humans, hunting tigers to steal their coats and use their body parts for ineffective medicines. Now she is asking for that to all stop. Will you protect Amber?
Artwork Features Sending you to a world of luxury and opulence, this range of gold leaf paintings shows Rabbitwoman and Dogman and all wildlife at their finest. Inspired by the ancient methods of gold leaf and the more contemporary styles of Gustav Klimt, Gillie and Marc are showing the loving journeys of their favourite muses and all endangered wildlife with an extra bit of sparkle. Description Ambo's Story On the evening of the 24th of April Angela Sheldrick was contacted by Craig Miller from Big Life regarding an orphaned elephant who had been located stuck in a waterhole in Amboseli.
This is a sculpture that represents more than orphaned calves. This is a yearlong celebration of hope and strength for the generation who will grow up into the healthy and supported elephants of tomorrow thanks to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The future of their species in the wild relies on this young generation being strong. Strength we can all help to provide. Because by December next year, when this sculpture leaves London, they’ll have only 19 years left to defy the odds with another generation to follow. This is a sculpture for positive change. One we won’t let become a memorial.
Ambo is part of Gillie and Marc's exhibition - The Orphans.

Description Gillie and Marc have always admired budgies. These bright parrots are arguably one the most beautiful birds in the world, and are loved by so many people. As kids, Marc used to breed the Australian budgie, whereas Gillie would find excuses to visit her cousin’s English budgies (the latter being a few inches bigger). The artists also find this affectionate bird very relatable due to their adorable “pair bonding”. Believe it or not, budgies can be quite picky when it comes to finding a mate with each bird having its own desired personality criteria for its mate. In bonding, a male budgie will sing to his mate, bob his head at her, and feed her. A male and female budgie will touch beaks often and sit snuggled up against one another as well as preen each other’s feathers. Gillie and Marc’s budgies have been so well-received that they are working on a project that will see monumental, large-scale budgies installed into various locations all over the world.
Artwork Features This artwork is made from brass with a chromium coating. Brass is a strong metal alloy of copper and zinc. Artwork Features Sending you to a world of luxury and opulence, this range of gold leaf paintings shows Rabbitwoman and Dogman at their finest. Inspired by the ancient methods of gold leaf and the more contemporary styles of Gustav Klimt, Gillie and Marc are showing the loving journeys of their favourite muses with an extra bit of sparkle. Gold leaf sheets are carefully laid onto the canvas, brushed, and smoothed out, adding a wonderful, glittery effect to its surface. Gillie and Marc believe that every moment can be a luxury. This idea is brought to life in these paintings, with even the simplest moments becoming incredible.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. Handle with clean, dry hands as oil from the skin will mark the gold leaf. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

Description Gillie and Marc have always found Angelina Jolie to be a huge source of inspiration – largely due to her humanitarian efforts with conservation, education and women's rights. In this 2.2metre tall artwork titled Angelina Rabbitgirl — Stronger than ever, the Hollywood actress stands strong to show that even through all her ups and downs she will never give up. Angelina Rabbitgirl is dressed in the iconic thigh-high slit gown that the film star wore to the 2012 Oscars. The Atelier Versace black velvet dress made Jolie’s right leg the most talked about limb in celebrity history. This sculpture is part of the Celebrity Animal series – a posse of A-listers which includes Arnold ‘Stag’ Schwarzenegger, Pamela ‘Poodle’ Anderson, Dr ‘Bear’ Evil, Michael ‘Dog’ Jackson and Jessica Rabbit. “Everyone has a fascination with celebrity but it’s difficult to get close and engage them,” explained Gillie. “So we came up with the hybrid idea so everyone could have that feeling of a little bit of fame.” Marc said they were also parodying celebrity culture. “Celebrities are the new royalty and shopping centres are the new galleries of the world.”
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc love working in bronze for many reasons. Bronze is a very hardy material and will last forever. Location State Netball Hockey Centre, Royal Park, Parkville VIC 3052
Description A bronze statue of Australian netball icon Anne Henderson has been unveiled at the State Netball Hockey Centre in a fitting tribute.
It’s difficult to describe the history of Victorian netball without mentioning Anne Henderson. One of the game’s pioneers, a statue of Anne now stands next to the entrance of the State Netball Hockey Centre in Royal Park – a venue of particular significance to Anne. It’s a fitting tribute to her lifetime commitment to the sport both on and off the court.
Born in 1904 in Benalla, Anne’s love of netball started while she was at primary school and continued while working as a teacher in regional Victoria. Anne’s nephew John Henderson said her dedication to the teaching and development of children combined with her love of netball created a safe and welcoming space for young women to play sport. ‘Although Anne never had children, she had no shortage of children in her life through her role as a primary school teacher and her enduring interest and commitment to netball as a player, administrator and mentor, particularly in Melbourne,’ said John. Anne had a knack for identifying and nurturing talent. She helped develop up and coming players, advocated for girls and women and governed the sport. She often provided the tram fare from her own pocket for many girls so they could travel and play at Royal Park. In recognition of her outstanding contribution, she was inducted as a Netball Victoria Life Member in 1939, a Victorian Netball State Council region was named in her honour in 1990 and she was posthumously elevated to the Hall of Fame in 1998. Anne’s statue has been created by renowned Australian-based sculpture artists Gillie and Marc, co-founders of Statues for Equality, a global movement to balance gender and racial representation in public statues. The statue is co-funded by the Victorian Government's Celebrating Female Sporting Icons initiative. This is the second statue created as part of this important initiative. These statues are a standing reminder for greater representation and recognition of women and girls in sport and recreation.

Description Archbishop John Bede Polding is an extraordinary man who lived from 1794-1877. Gillie and Marc were asked to commemorate this local legend in bronze for Rosebank College in Five Dock, NSW. Gillie and Marc created the Archbishop Polding sculpture along with his horse, because in one month alone he was known for having traveled over 1,500 kilometers on horseback, preaching and praying to help those in need. The sculpture inspires the community to be kinder and more welcoming, while at the same time passionately driven towards a better tomorrow for all. Born in Liverpool, England, Polding arrived in Sydney on September 13th, 1935 to become the city’s first bishop. While initially met with suspicion, his dedication and gentleness gained him respect from even his most adverse opponents. Polding attended to the needs of the general public, the sick and dying, the poor and disadvantaged, as well as the spiritual needs of prisoners. For 30 years, he worked with love and open arms to create a truly Australian Catholic Church. Polding, a recognized academic, fought for education and established two monasteries, as well as the first Australian religious community. Inside or outside of the religious community, he is a heartwarming example of human goodness. His extreme compassion coupled with dedication, allowed him to establish some of Australia’s most respected institutes, and touch the lives of people for generations.

Location Shoalhaven Council, New South Wales
Description In 1861, a horse named Archer galloped into history, winning the very first Melbourne Cup and securing his place as one of Australia’s most legendary racehorses. Bred and trained in the Shoalhaven region of New South Wales, Archer was known for his remarkable stamina and gentle temperament, qualities that would make him an enduring symbol of Australian determination and spirit.
Trained by Etienne de Mestre at his Terara stables near Nowra, and ridden by jockey John Cutts, Archer famously walked more than 500 kilometres from the Shoalhaven to Flemington to compete, and win the inaugural Melbourne Cup by six lengths. He went on to triumph again in 1862, becoming the first horse to win consecutive Cups, a record that still resonates in Australian racing folklore.
Gillie and Marc were commissioned by the Shoalhaven Council to create the Archer sculpture as a tribute to this remarkable horse and the local community that nurtured his legacy. The sculpture beautifully captures the powerful bond between horse, trainer, and jockey; a celebration of teamwork, endurance, and the pioneering spirit of early Australian racing.
The piece was unveiled by Tim de Mestre, great-grandson of Archer’s trainer, honouring not only the champion horse but also the generations of dedication and passion that have kept his story alive in the Shoalhaven.

Description I just use my muscles as a conversation piece, like someone walking a cheetah down 42nd Street. The stag is possibly one of the most obvious and ubiquitous symbols for masculinity in our culture. Think deer heads mounted on the wall of a proud hunters lodge, and two stags locking their antlers to battle for a does attention. But, they spend their lives balanced on spindly ankles – darting and leaping like ballerinas and running away whenever they hear a loud noise or see a bright light. Arnie is an icon the self-made man and the embodiment of the American dream. Long before he was governing California, he was oiled-up and posing, in a manoeuvre so iconic you don't need to see his face to recognise him.
This is Arnie's most memorable pose, much more memorable than his wave from the podium when he was elected Governor. This is the pose that turned him into a bodybuilding icon and spurred millions to emulate his body. Arnie considered himself a sculpture, and Gillie and Marc continue to be fascinated by the way that he transformed his own body, as sculptors they're interested in the way he forced us to look at the male form in a new way. Gillie and Marc chose the stag head for him for it's complicated masculinity, it's second life as a decorative art form and it's European origin.

Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

The centerpiece of the artwork is a cheetah, its intense gaze fixed upon the viewer, conveying both vulnerability and strength. Description Baby You Can Drive My Car is a vibrant and playful stencil painting that explores themes of companionship, freedom, and love. Inspired by the classic Beatles song, this artwork captures a joyous moment of a rabbitwoman and a dogman embarking on a road trip in a tiny red car. The rabbitwoman, with her gentle demeanor and curious expression, symbolizes innocence and spontaneity. The dogman, exuding loyalty and protection, represents steadfastness and companionship. Together, they form an unlikely but endearing pair, inviting viewers to reflect on the bonds we form with those who are different from us. The dynamic composition, featuring a bright red mini-cooper against a colorful backdrop, evokes a sense of adventure and excitement. The phrase "1 LOVE" on the license plate serves as a universal symbol of affection and unity.
Description In 'Baby you can ride my bike' Gillie and Marc's iconic characters, Dogman and Rabbitgirl, are depicted sipping cappuccino on a Vespa in a similar pose to their work 'It takes two' which is on permanent public display in Paddington. That particular sculpture has become so beloved by locals that it's frequently dressed up for holidays and special occasions, and has become one of the most photographed spots in the area. 'Baby you can ride my bike' is in fibreglass and high gloss red paint - one of Gillie and Marc's signature styles made famous by their Lost Dog series. Gillie and Marc use their art to tell their own remarkable love story, and to comment on the way humans interact with the world and deny or embrace their animal instincts. The artists choose to depict Dogman and Rabbitgirl, the ultimate odd couple, enjoying simple pleasures like drinking coffee to suggest that through embracing some of our more animalistic qualities we might all be able to find genuine happiness in the simple things. The Vespa has become a consistent motif in Gillie and Marc's work as it symbolises the spirit of adventure, travel and freedom that we all have in us.
