Description
The African Forest Elephant is the smaller and more elusive subspecies of the African elephant. Roaming the rainforests of central and western Africa this male is key to the health of his habitat. Yet is constantly threatened by habitat loss human-wildlife conflict and the worst poaching for his beautiful ivory tusks. Every day 55 elephants are killed for the ivory trade making the species vulnerable to extinction.
