Gillie and Marc are delighted to announce the permanent installation of Dolphin Riders at Soul Boardwalk on the Gold Coast.
Positioned beside the ocean, Dolphin Riders celebrates the beauty, wonder, and interconnectedness of our marine world. Featuring Rabbitwoman and Dogman riding together atop a graceful dolphin, the sculpture invites visitors to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the extraordinary ecosystems that surround us.
The dolphin, moving with strength and elegance, represents the spirit and life force of our oceans. A symbol of intelligence, freedom, and harmony, it reminds us of the delicate balance that exists beneath the waves and our responsibility to protect it.
Rabbitwoman and Dogman — two distinct yet deeply connected figures — symbolize humanity in all its diversity. Together, they represent unity, compassion, and the idea that despite our differences, we are all travelling the same journey and share a collective responsibility to care for our planet.
Installed in such a fitting coastal location, Dolphin Riders carries a message that feels especially meaningful. Our oceans connect every shoreline, every community, and every living creature. The sculpture is a celebration of cooperation and empathy, and a reminder that even small actions can create ripples of positive change.
As with many of Gillie and Marc’s public artworks, Dolphin Riders has been created as an interactive experience, inviting visitors to sit, engage, photograph, and become part of the story. It is hoped the sculpture will become a beloved landmark at Soul Boardwalk — a place where people gather, create memories, and feel inspired to cherish and protect our wonderful oceans.
