Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.

As they glide down the narrow cobblestone pathways, past canals glistening in the sun, the skyline of the city sprawling out before them like a painting, they feel as though nothing could be more serene or idyllic. They stop at street cafes, sipping rich espressos and nibbling on stroopwafels as they breathe in the sweet air of the city. In Amsterdam, Dogman and Rabbitwoman seem to slow down and embrace each moment for what it is, taking time at each step to slow down, discover new delights, and spend time with the locals, always exchanging their stories and sharing new adventures together. They realize that life truly is about the journey, and there's no place they'd rather be than on the streets of Amsterdam, two kindred spirits taking on new experiences and basking in the joy of life itself. Artwork Features The iconic style of Gillie and Marc’s Thick Texture Paintings provide the tangible dimensions of a sculpture with the convenient spatial simplicity of a painting. Multiple layers of impasto are mixed with the paint.
