About Gillie and Marc's World Of Sculptures

Gillie and Marc are passionate about creating sculptures that bring life, character, and meaning into a space. Each work is designed to be lived with — transforming its surroundings while telling a story of love, connection, and conservation.

Every sculpture carries a part of the artists’ world, whether it reflects their deep connection to endangered wildlife or the enduring love story of their iconic characters, Rabbitwoman and Dogman. Through their work, they invite you to bring that story into your own life.

Working across a range of materials including bronze, resin, fibreglass, stainless steel, aluminium, and chrome, Gillie and Marc carefully select each medium for its unique qualities — allowing every idea to be expressed in its most powerful form.

Bronze Sculptures
Bronze lies at the heart of Gillie and Marc’s practice. Their monumental public sculptures, expertly cast in this timeless material, can be found in cities across the globe, where they are embraced by both locals and visitors alike. Alongside these large-scale works, the artists also create smaller editions, allowing collectors to bring a piece of this world into their own space.

Bronze is an exceptionally durable material, capable of lasting for generations — even millennia, as seen in works that remain today from over 2,500 years ago. Composed primarily of copper and tin, it is both strong and sustainable, with a significant portion of the material sourced from recycled copper.

The finish of each sculpture plays a vital role in its character. Some works are completed with a traditional patina, creating a rich, evolving surface that develops subtle highlights over time through touch and exposure. Others are finished with vibrant colour, offering a bold and contemporary expression. Each approach creates a distinct visual identity, ensuring every sculpture is unique.

Gillie and Marc continue to explore the possibilities of bronze, often combining traditional techniques with modern colour and form to create works that feel both timeless and alive.

Fibreglass and Resin Sculptures
Fibreglass and resin allow Gillie and Marc to explore a more playful and versatile side of their practice. These materials are lightweight, durable, and highly adaptable, making them ideal for creating intricate and expressive forms.

Resin sculptures can be finished in a wide range of ways — from bold, solid colours to multi-layered, high-gloss surfaces, and even transparent effects. This flexibility allows the artists to push creative boundaries and experiment freely with colour and finish.

While strong and long-lasting, resin requires a little extra care in colder climates. As temperatures change, the material can expand and contract, so outdoor works are best protected during colder periods to maintain their integrity over time.

Stainless Steel Sculptures
Stainless steel offers a sleek, contemporary finish, bringing a refined and highly polished surface to Gillie and Marc’s work. Its smooth, reflective quality allows light to interact beautifully with the sculpture, enhancing both form and colour.

This material is also highly practical and easy to maintain. A simple clean with warm water and a gentle detergent will keep the surface looking its best, while avoiding abrasive materials ensures the finish remains pristine.

Gillie and Marc often combine stainless steel with other materials such as bronze, creating a dynamic contrast that highlights the unique qualities of each.

Aluminium Sculptures
Aluminium is a lightweight and resilient material that delivers a striking metallic finish. It does not rust and holds colour exceptionally well, making it ideal for vibrant, hand-painted works.

Easy to care for, aluminium sculptures can be gently cleaned with water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. With proper care, the material maintains its brightness and clarity over time, allowing the artwork to continue to shine.

Chrome Sculptures
Chrome offers a smooth, high-shine finish that brings a sense of clarity and modernity to the work. Its reflective surface creates a striking visual presence, while its lighter weight makes it suitable for a range of installations.

As a softer material, chrome requires gentle care to avoid scratching. Cleaning with mild soap, water, and a soft cloth will maintain its finish, while careful handling ensures its longevity.

Authenticity Certificate
Every sculpture purchased directly from Gillie and Marc’s gallery is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Each certificate is signed, dated, and editioned by the artists, confirming the work’s originality and place within the edition.
