Description Jumping 10 feet in the air is not something to brag about in the impala community, they all can do it. But this impala had something a little bit more impressive in his resume. He could leap higher and further than any impala was known to do. Leaping across chasms and uncrossable rivers, the impala found himself away from his savannah homelands. He had come to the big city. Here he could soar above everything, leaping to the tops of the tallest buildings with a single bound.

The Javan Rhino Races on the Bicycle (Bronze Sculpture)
Description This is a whimsical and thought-provoking bronze sculpture that combines one of the world’s rarest animals with an unexpected mode of modern transportation. The rhino’s expression exudes determination and a touch of playful mischief, as though fully aware of the novelty of its endeavor. With its small, forward-pointing horn catching the light and its massive legs pedaling with surprising grace, the scene invites both laughter and contemplation. A spare seat fixed just behind the rhino’s saddle extends a unique invitation to the public—an open call to join the journey, symbolizing shared responsibility in the race to protect our planet’s biodiversity. Beyond its lighthearted charm, the sculpture carries a deeper message about conservation and adaptability. The Javan rhino, critically endangered and seldom seen in the wild, symbolizes resilience and the urgent need to preserve fragile ecosystems. By placing this powerful creature in a distinctly human context—racing on a bicycle and leaving room for us to ride along—the piece draws attention to the intersection of nature and human progress, encouraging viewers to consider how coexistence can be achieved in a changing world.
Sculpture Title The Javan Rhino Races on the Bicycle
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Critically Endangered
About the Javan Rhinoceros
The Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) is one of the world’s most critically endangered large mammals, once widespread across Southeast Asia, from India to Indonesia. It is the smallest of the rhino species and is distinguished by its single horn and mosaic-like skin folds. The species suffered a severe decline due to poaching for its horn and habitat loss caused by agricultural expansion and human settlement. By the 20th century, the Javan rhino had vanished from nearly all of its former range, surviving only in a single protected area.
Today, there are estimated to be around 75 Javan rhinos remaining, all confined to Ujung Kulon National Park on the western tip of Java, Indonesia. This isolated population faces ongoing threats from disease, natural disasters, and limited genetic diversity, which make recovery extremely difficult. Conservationists are working to protect and expand their habitat, monitor individuals, and prevent poaching, but the species’ survival remains precarious.
How to Help Inspired by animals that Gillie and Marc met on their travels, we invite the public to discover and interact with these beautiful creatures up close and personal – this allows audiences to connect, take photographs and share their favourite species with friends and family.
With more exposure comes more awareness and builds on the love we already have for animals around the world. With love comes a greater sense of urgency to create a change and save all endangered animals.
The sculpture will be aligned with the hashtag #GillieandMarc and #LoveTheLast to raise unparalleled awareness about the sculpture’s cause across the globe.

The rabbitwoman, with her soft expression and long ears, exudes a sense of grace and elegance. Her companion, the dapper dogman, is the epitome of romance, his eyes filled with adoration. Together, they form an unlikely yet enchanting pair, embodying the timeless power of love. The vibrant colors and delicate brushstrokes create a dreamy and ethereal atmosphere. The countless butterflies symbolize the joy, freedom, and transformation that love brings. The intimate moment between the rabbitwoman and dogman is both universal and deeply personal, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of love and connection.
Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. Recently inspired by the pop style of Andy Warhol and the iconic stencils of street artists Banksy and Mr. Brainwash, Gillie and Marc expanded their collection with the edgy addition of using spray paint stencils on their canvases. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

The Koala Bear Bench of Friendship (Bronze Sculpture)
Description A captivating bronze sculpture bench invites the public into a moment of warmth and intimacy as Rabbitwoman and Dogman sit beside an endangered Eastern koala, sharing a cup of tea and quiet conversation. The koala, placed at the center of the bench, becomes the heart of this gathering, symbolizing the fragile yet vital presence of endangered species in our shared world. On either side, Rabbitwoman and Dogman — Gillie and Marc’s beloved Wildlife Warriors — cradle their tea cups, embodying the guardianship and companionship humans can offer to wildlife. Their posture of openness leaves space on both ends of the bench, inviting members of the public to join the circle and become part of the conversation. The koala itself represents gentleness and the delicate balance of nature. Its placement between Rabbitwoman and Dogman emphasizes unity: animals and humans side by side, sharing the same space, the same moment, and the same future. The act of sipping tea, simple yet profound, is transformed into a metaphor of connection and care. It reminds us that by slowing down, sharing time, and truly sitting with endangered species, we can cultivate empathy. The Koala Bear Bench of Friendship becomes more than a seat — it is a symbol of kinship, reflection, and the urgent need to protect the creatures who depend on us.
Sculpture Title The Koala Bear Bench of Friendship
Animal Names Name goes here Conservation Status Endangered
About the Eastern Koala The eastern koala is a tree-dwelling marsupial found primarily along Australia’s eastern coast, from Queensland to Victoria. Like other koalas, it relies almost entirely on eucalyptus leaves for food, which provide both nourishment and water. However, eastern koalas are facing increasing threats due to habitat loss caused by deforestation, land clearing, and expanding urban areas. Large bushfires—particularly those that have ravaged parts of New South Wales—have also destroyed vast sections of forest, leaving many koalas injured, displaced, or dead. Disease, especially chlamydia, has become another serious issue, leading to blindness, infertility, and weakened immune systems. Additionally, climate change is intensifying heatwaves and droughts, drying out eucalyptus trees and reducing the koala’s food supply. These combined pressures have led to a steep decline in eastern koala populations, making targeted conservation efforts critical to ensure their survival and the preservation of Australia’s unique wildlife heritage.

Description Koalas are seemingly solitary - they leave their mothers once they’re old enough, live one to a tree, and only get together with other koalas during mating season. But underneath all that, koalas love to live close to one another, and form a complex network through which they can contact any family member at any time. So while koalas don’t form families in the same way we might, they rely heavily on their relatives to support and help them. Through it all, they stick together.

Description This koala is on his way to the top! Things had hit rock bottom. His home was taken over by humans and he was constantly looking over his shoulder for fear a poacher could be hiding in the bushes. He decided enough was enough, he was no longer going to live in fear. With a little help from his friends, the koala found a way out. Climbing high above the destruction below the koala began his upward journey. From here it was up, up and away and he couldn’t wait to see what his new life had in store for him.

Description Wild koalas prefer their own space in their own tree, and yet they choose to live close to one another, forming a complex network that every member is able to tap into. So while each koala doesn’t like it when another gets too close, it is protected by always being within bellowing range of their entire family. We love the image of a large family of koalas protecting and supporting each other - as much as they protect their personal space! Artwork Features Imagine if we could wear our art so close to our souls that we end up embodying its beauty and meaning. Gillie and Marc have always appreciated creative pieces of jewellery, so it was only a matter of time before they decided to think outside the jewellery box and take jewellery to a whole new level by turning it into art wear.
Gillie and Marc’s gorgeous range of art wear is handcrafted from the highest quality of hypoallergenic materials. And as a beautiful bonus, a percentage of profits goes to various notable charities to protect animals in need. So embody your art, and buy jewellery that can change the world forever.

Description It should go without saying that Gillie and Marc have wild imaginations, and part of that involves imagining a future where all of us are happy and safe. This pair of koalas live in such a world. They have a wealth of eucalyptus forest to roam to pick their perfect trees. There are no highways running through their living rooms, and the danger of a high-speed car is a distant memory. Bushfire season runs like clockwork and they are prepared and away from the flames when it hits. Gillie and Marc believe this world isn’t a fantasy, but one we can all work towards for koalas and all animals.

He will be extra vigilant to ensure this doesn't happen to him.
Artwork Features In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.

Description Rhinos once roamed the lands of Eurasia and Africa in plentiful numbers. Today these numbers have dwindled at an alarming rate and it is rare to see them outside of national parks. Our remaining wild places in the world are declining, and with them the wonderful creatures they are home to. This is mainly due to human actions, poaching and expansion of cities being the main culprits. This work is to remember what these beautiful wild places once were when the rhinos roamed these lands at peace. This is what we need to fight to protect and to regenerate before it’s too late.
Artwork Features These works by Gillie and Marc provide the tangible dimensions of a sculpture with the convenient spatial simplicity of a painting. Multiple layers of impasto are mixed with the paint. With each piece, Gillie and Marc are sharing a part of their unique experience through thickbrushstrokes and captivating colours that create a harmonious image that is more than just a painting.

Description This canvas giclée print pays tribute to Gillie and Marc’s world-renowned sculpture The Last Three, created in honour of the final northern white rhinos—Sudan, Najin, and Fatu. In delicate black-and-white line work, three magnificent rhinos are shown balanced one atop another, a vision at once graceful and precarious. Their upward climb becomes a powerful metaphor for survival, illustrating the fragile thread that still connects this species to the future. Every finely rendered fold of skin and subtle shadow captures the quiet strength of these animals while reminding us how close they stand to disappearance. More than a reproduction of a famous monument, the print invites reflection on loss, resilience, and the urgent need for conservation, bringing the spirit of these extraordinary creatures into any space as a lasting call to protect what remains.

It represents both the struggle and hope that remains, and is a smaller replica of the world’s biggest rhino sculpture that the artists installed in NYC in 2018.

Description The Legend is a vibrant and playful stencil painting that pays homage to the iconic Hollywood glamour of the mid-20th century. This artwork depicts a rabbitwoman, our unconventional protagonist, striking a pose reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe's most famous photograph. Dressed in a billowing pink dress, the rabbitwoman exudes confidence and allure, capturing the essence of Hollywood's golden age. The painting's bold colors and dynamic composition create a sense of energy and excitement. The rabbitwoman's pose, with the dress billowing around her, is both iconic and timeless. The background, with its abstract patterns and bright hues, adds to the overall sense of glamour and sophistication.
The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description The leopard is an incredibly skilful hunter, scouring the land, trees, and even the water. It’s a good thing too when survival is becoming harder and harder. The leopard was willing to do anything to survive, staring its fate in the eyes. Even though its prey was becoming scarce because of the bushmeat trade, its habitat disappearing from the ever-nearing humans, and its friends being draped across the backs of rich people, it would not lie down and make it easier for the humans to take over. There is an energy in this leopard that is not easily extinguished. That energy comes from hope.
Artwork Features In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Description As soon as it starts to get dark and everyone else goes to sleep the leopard starts its day. She loved it when the only light came from the moon and the stars, casting a faint glimmer on the world. Her eyes were perfect for this, pupils dilated to the size of gigantic orbs. She roamed around, enjoying the silence and solitude. This was her idea of the perfect night out.

Description A captivating bronze sculpture bench draws the public into a scene of joy and vitality as Rabbitwoman and Dogman sit beside an endangered West African lion, sharing in the playful indulgence of eating giant strawberries. The lion, positioned at the center of the bench, becomes the focal point of this gathering, symbolizing both power and vulnerability — a king of beasts whose survival depends on the care and respect of humankind. On either side, Rabbitwoman and Dogman — Gillie and Marc’s beloved Wildlife Warriors — eat strawberries alongside the lion, embodying harmony, guardianship, and the possibility of coexistence. Their open posture leaves room on both ends of the bench, inviting the public to join in, sit close, and take part in this whimsical feast. The lion itself represents strength, courage, and the fragile majesty of the natural world. Placed between Rabbitwoman and Dogman, it becomes a symbol of trust and togetherness — a reminder that even the most powerful creatures need protection. The act of sharing strawberries, sweet and abundant, is transformed into a metaphor for generosity, unity, and the simple pleasures that bridge the distance between species. The Lion Bench of Friendship is more than a seat — it is a joyful call to nurture, protect, and savor the beauty of endangered wildlife before it is lost.
Sculpture Title The Lion Bench of Friendship
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Critically Endangered
About the West African Lion The West African lion is a subspecies of the African lion found in parts of West and Central Africa, including Senegal, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso. Smaller and more genetically distinct than its southern and eastern relatives, it inhabits savanna and forest-edge environments where prey is often scarce. These lions typically live in smaller prides or even as solitary individuals, adapting to regions with lower prey density and greater human presence. Unfortunately, the West African lion is among the most endangered large cats in the world. Habitat fragmentation, poaching of both lions and their prey, and human–wildlife conflict due to livestock predation have drastically reduced their numbers. Once ranging across vast areas, fewer than 250 individuals are believed to remain in the wild today. Conservation groups are working to establish protected corridors and strengthen anti-poaching measures, but continued pressure from land development and climate change poses serious challenges. Without sustained international and local efforts, the West African lion risks disappearing entirely, taking with it a vital piece of Africa’s natural heritage.

Description The lion was filled with love for the world. He knew he was very special and an important part of his ecosystem, keeping the numbers of prey animals in check so that no species became over-abundant. Sometimes he wondered if the rest of the world understood this. Humans and their ever-expanding towns are making his own home far too small and hunters come with their strange desire to kill him and the other big animals. He sits atop his pear, a symbol of affection, and tries to convince the world that they must show him affection too.

Description This whimsical and captivating bronze sculpture reimagines the commanding presence of a lion through the playful and unexpected act of bicycle riding. The artwork features a powerful yet composed lion, poised with effortless balance atop a classic two-wheeled bicycle. This imaginative pairing creates a light-hearted but impactful metaphor for the challenges lions face in the wild, from shrinking habitats to increasing human pressures. By placing the king of beasts in such an unusual scenario, the artist highlights the lion’s surprising adaptability and enduring strength, qualities often overshadowed by its reputation for sheer power. The bicycle—an enduring symbol of movement, freedom, and a journey forward—stands in contrast to the lion’s natural savanna home, prompting reflection on the changing landscapes of wildlife and the urgent need for harmonious coexistence between humans and the natural world.

Dimensions 5.5 x 10.8 x 6.3 inch (H*L*W) 6.6 lbs 14 x 27.5 x 16 cm (H*L*W) 3 kg
Description This miniature sculpture was based off Virginia and Bill, the actors who played the lions in the movie Born Free, and the Co-Founders of the UK animal welfare and conservation charity Born Free Foundation.
Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

The Masai Giraffe and Lion Race on the Scooter (Bronze Sculpture)
Description This bronze sculpture presents a whimsical yet deeply meaningful scene: a West African lion and a Masai giraffe sharing a scooter, with room left behind for an adventurous passenger. The giraffe leads at the front, its long neck stretching skyward while the lion perches behind, holding on with quiet strength and resolve. Behind them, an open space invites the public to imagine themselves joining this extraordinary ride. By uniting these iconic African animals on a single scooter and leaving space for human participation, the artist creates a bridge between the natural world and human experience. The scooter, a symbol of modern motion and convenience, contrasts with the untamed grace of the giraffe and the endangered majesty of the West African lion. Once widespread across the region, this subspecies now faces severe decline due to habitat loss, poaching, and dwindling prey — making its depiction here both a tribute and a plea for protection. This playful composition thus carries a quiet urgency. It encourages reflection on our shared journey with wildlife — reminding us that we are not mere observers of nature, but passengers whose actions determine its fate. Both inviting and symbolic, the sculpture transforms a simple ride into a celebration of imagination, coexistence, and our collective responsibility to safeguard Earth’s most vulnerable creatures.
Sculpture Title The Masai Giraffe and Lion Race on the Scooter
Animal Names Jerry & Lee Conservation Status Critically endangered (lion) Endangered (giraffe)
About the Masai Giraffe and West African Lion
The Masai giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) is the largest giraffe subspecies, native to central and southern Kenya and Tanzania. It is easily recognized by its irregular, star-shaped patches and towering height, which can reach up to 18 feet. Masai giraffes browse on leaves, flowers, and fruits from tall trees, especially acacias, and play a vital role in shaping savanna ecosystems by pruning vegetation and dispersing seeds.
The Masai giraffe is listed as Endangered by the IUCN, with an estimated about 45,000 individuals remaining in the wild. Their population has declined sharply due to poaching, habitat loss, and human encroachment. Conservation efforts include anti-poaching patrols, habitat protection, and community-based wildlife programs in Kenya and Tanzania. These measures aim to stabilize and grow populations to ensure the long-term survival of this iconic African species.
The West African lion (Panthera leo leo) is a critically endangered subspecies native to the savannas and forests of West Africa, found mainly in countries such as Senegal, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso. Smaller and less maned than other African lions, it has a slender build and a darker coat. As an apex predator, the West African lion plays a vital ecological role by regulating herbivore populations and maintaining ecosystem balance. However, its numbers have plummeted, with fewer than 400 individuals remaining in the wild, mostly in isolated reserves like Niokolo-Koba National Park and the W-Arly-Pendjari Complex.
The population decline is driven by habitat loss, poaching, human-wildlife conflict, and the depletion of natural prey. In response, conservation organizations such as Panthera and the IUCN Cat Specialist Group are working to protect and restore populations through anti-poaching efforts, habitat preservation, and community-based conservation programs. These initiatives aim to reconnect fragmented habitats and promote coexistence with local people, offering hope for the long-term survival of one of Africa’s most endangered and iconic predators.

Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.

About the Mountain Gorilla
The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is a subspecies of the eastern gorilla found in the forested mountains of central Africa, primarily within the Virunga Mountains spanning Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. These powerful yet gentle primates live in tight family groups led by a dominant silverback male and are known for their intelligence, social bonds, and complex communication. For decades, their survival was threatened by poaching, habitat destruction, disease, and civil conflict in the region.
Thanks to intensive conservation efforts, including anti-poaching patrols, community-based tourism, and veterinary interventions, the mountain gorilla population has made a remarkable recovery. Today, there are an estimated 1,060 individuals in the wild — a significant increase from fewer than 300 in the 1980s. Despite this progress, the species remains endangered, facing ongoing risks from human encroachment, disease transmission, and climate change. Continued protection and sustainable ecotourism are essential to ensure their long-term survival in the wild.

The North Atlantic Right Whale Races on a Surfboard (Bronze Sculpture)
Description This bronze sculpture presents the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale in an unexpectedly playful scene—riding a sleek surfboard. The whale, massive yet graceful, appears to glide effortlessly, its immense presence contrasted by the lightness of the board beneath it. At the front of the surfboard, there is a space intentionally designed for the public to join in—inviting them to imagine themselves sharing the thrill of the ride with this majestic creature. This interactive element transforms the piece from a static display into a shared experience, drawing viewers into the world of the whale and the ocean it inhabits. The juxtaposition of the whale’s size and the surfboard’s delicacy invites reflection on the fragile balance between humanity and the ocean’s most vulnerable species. By placing the whale in a human-centered pastime, the artist underscores the pressures human activities have placed on marine life while also celebrating the whale’s enduring vitality and majesty. The surfboard, a symbol of freedom and harmony with the sea, becomes a poignant reminder of what stands to be lost without urgent conservation efforts—making this piece both whimsical and profoundly thought-provoking.

About the North Atlantic Right Whale
The North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis) is one of the world’s most endangered whales, with fewer than 350 left and only about 70 breeding females. Found along the North American east coast, they were nearly wiped out by past whaling and now face deadly threats from ship strikes and fishing gear entanglement.
Growing up to 16 meters (52 feet) long, these gentle giants feed on tiny plankton. Urgent conservation efforts—like slower ship speeds and safer fishing practices—are crucial to prevent their extinction.

Description The Northern White Rhino Races Against Time on the Skateboard is a bronze sculpture that fuses urgency with whimsy, using playful imagery to deliver a profound message. The piece portrays an endangered northern white rhino mounted on a skateboard, charging forward with determination as if every second matters. While the skateboarding element brings a sense of levity and humor—inviting viewers to smile at the unexpected sight—it also underscores the gravity of the rhino’s plight, as the species teeters on the brink of extinction. This tension between the lighthearted and the serious creates a compelling visual metaphor: the rhino is not just racing for fun, but racing against time itself, a symbol of the urgent fight to preserve biodiversity before it is too late.

The Northern White Rhino Races on the Skateboard (Bronze Sculpture)
Description This bronze sculpture features the critically endangered northern white rhino, poised in an energetic and unexpected moment—racing atop a skateboard. The rhino’s immense frame contrasts sharply with the small, agile board beneath it, creating a compelling visual tension between weight and motion, survival and play. Behind the rhino, the skateboard extends to provide space for the public to jump on the ride—an open invitation to join the mission of saving these extraordinary animals. By placing this rare giant in such a lively, human context, the artists highlight the urgency of protecting a species on the brink of extinction while reminding viewers of its strength, resilience, and irreplaceable role in our natural world. The skateboard, a symbol of youth, speed, and perseverance, becomes an emblem of hope, suggesting that with enough momentum, even those teetering on the edge can find a way forward. Both whimsical and deeply poignant, the piece challenges us to consider what we are willing to do to ensure the rhino’s race continues beyond this imagined scene.

About the Northern White Rhinoceros
The northern white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) is one of the most critically endangered mammals on Earth, once roaming across parts of Central and East Africa, including Sudan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic. Decades of poaching for their horns and civil unrest in their native habitats led to a catastrophic population collapse. By the early 2000s, only a handful remained, and despite conservation efforts, the last wild populations disappeared soon after.
Today, only two northern white rhinos survive, both females named Najin and Fatu, living under armed protection at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. With no surviving males, the subspecies is functionally extinct. However, scientists are working to save it through advanced reproductive technologies, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) and stem cell research, using preserved genetic material from deceased males. These efforts offer a small but vital hope that the northern white rhino might one day be revived and reintroduced into the wild.

The Octopus Races on Rollers Skates (Bronze Sculpture)
Description The artwork depicts a Kermadec octopus (Callistoctopus kermadecensis), a rare deep-sea species found exclusively around a remote volcanic island chain northeast of New Zealand, its body radiating quiet strength and fluid motion, while four of its slender arms balance firmly atop roller skates. The other arms extend outward like fluid ribbons in the dark, curling and reaching as though charting a path between the ocean depths and the surface world. The open space surrounding the figure invites viewers to imagine themselves skating alongside this elusive octopus, caught up in a surreal race where abyssal mystery meets human play. Beyond its whimsy, the sculpture serves as a poignant reminder of how little we know about deep-sea life, and how easily such fragile species could be lost. The octopus is vulnerable to human activity that alters deep ocean ecosystems, making it a symbol of both wonder and precarity. In its unusual balance—half grounded, half unfurling—the piece reflects the tension between resilience and vulnerability that defines life in the deep. With humor, elegance, and a touch of surreal imagination, The Octopus Races on Roller Skates sparks curiosity and reflection, urging us to consider the fragile beauty of the unknown.

About the Kermadec Octopus
The Kermadec octopus (Octopus kermadecensis) is a rare deep-sea species found only around the Kermadec Islands, a remote volcanic arc northeast of New Zealand. Known from just a handful of specimens, this elusive cephalopod remains one of the least-studied octopus species in the Pacific Ocean.
With its reddish hue and graceful, elongated arms, it embodies the quiet mystery of the deep. Scientists believe its entire population may be confined to the deep-water habitats of the Kermadec Ridge — a region renowned for its rich biodiversity and geological wonder.
Although not formally assessed as endangered, its rarity and restricted range make it potentially vulnerable to future threats such as deep-sea mining, habitat disturbance, and ocean warming. Protected waters within the Kermadec Marine Reserve offer hope that this hidden marvel of the ocean will continue to thrive unseen in the deep.

The Orangutan Bench of Friendship (Bronze Sculpture)
Description A captivating bronze sculpture bench invites the public into a moment of beauty and reflection as a critically endangered Tapanuli orangutan sits at the center, holding a giant flower, with Rabbitwoman and Dogman seated on either side mirroring the gesture. Together, the trio creates a scene of quiet harmony, each figure cradling their flower as if it were the most precious gift. The orangutan represents wisdom, gentleness, and the fragile balance of the rainforest it calls home. Its place at the heart of the bench underscores its role as a symbol of both vulnerability and resilience. On either side, Rabbitwoman and Dogman — Gillie and Marc’s beloved Wildlife Warriors — hold their own giant flowers, embodying guardianship and solidarity. Their openness leaves space at both ends of the bench, inviting the public to sit, join in, and symbolically become part of this circle of care. The flowers themselves carry rich symbolism. They are fragile yet radiant, reminding us of the delicate beauty of nature and the fleeting opportunity we have to protect it. In the hands of the orangutan, the flower becomes a metaphor for the rainforest itself — vital, life-giving, and in need of protection. The Orangutan Bench of Friendship becomes more than a seat — it is a symbol of kinship, reflection, and the urgent need to protect these extraordinary great apes and the forests they depend on.
Sculpture Title The Orangutan Bench of Friendship
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Critically Endangered
About the Tapanuli Orangutan The Tapanuli orangutan is the rarest and most endangered great ape in the world, found only in the Batang Toru forests of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Discovered as a distinct species in 2017, it is genetically and behaviorally different from both the Sumatran and Bornean orangutans. Tapanuli orangutans have slightly frizzier hair, smaller heads, and a unique vocalization pattern that sets them apart. They live in dense montane forests, feeding on fruits, leaves, bark, and insects, and play a vital role in seed dispersal, which helps maintain the health of their ecosystem.
Sadly, this species faces an extremely high risk of extinction, with fewer than 800 individuals remaining. Their habitat is being rapidly lost to deforestation, illegal logging, agricultural expansion, and infrastructure projects such as the Batang Toru hydroelectric dam. Fragmentation of their forest home isolates populations, making breeding and long-term survival even more difficult. Conservation efforts are now centered on protecting the remaining forest, halting destructive development, and working with local communities to promote sustainable land use. Without urgent global action, the Tapanuli orangutan could vanish within our lifetime, marking the tragic loss of a newly discovered branch of the great ape family.

Created by internationally acclaimed artists Gillie and Marc, the sculpture aims to raise funds and awareness for this next generation of elephants who will grow up into the healthy and supported elephants of tomorrow thanks to the SWT.
From Kenya to the heart of London, our sculpture ‘herd’ arrived in London on 4th December, where they will reside for the next 12 months. You can come and meet the 21 life-size bronze elephants and get to know the real-life orphans that have inspired the twenty orphans, who stand around a central mother figure. Each sculpture includes the name of the orphan they symbolise and an interactive information board, enabling you to read the unique rescue story of each elephant and directly support their rehabilitation journey. To help create awareness of our work in the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants, so that we can save more lives, we encourage you to take photos when you visit and to share these on your social media accounts using the hashtag #ElephantsOfTomorrow
This is a sculpture that represents more than orphaned calves. This is a yearlong celebration of hope and strength for the generation who will grow up into the healthy and supported elephants of tomorrow thanks to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The future of their species in the wild relies on this young generation being strong. Strength we can all help to provide. Because by December next year, when this sculpture leaves London, they’ll have only 19 years left to defy the odds with another generation to follow. This is a sculpture for positive change. One we won’t let become a memorial.

Description A captivating bronze sculpture bench invites the public into a scene of warmth and delight as a vulnerable giant panda sits at the center, flanked on either side by Rabbitwoman and Dogman. All three share in the playful act of eating doughnuts together, creating a moment that is at once whimsical and deeply symbolic. The panda, with its gentle presence, represents peace, balance, and the delicate relationship between humans and nature. Its position at the heart of the bench emphasizes its role as the centerpiece of attention, a reminder of both its cultural significance and its precarious future in the wild. Rabbitwoman and Dogman — Gillie and Marc’s iconic Wildlife Warriors — mirror the panda’s gesture, each holding a doughnut with lighthearted joy. Their companionship embodies the human responsibility to share space, protect, and nurture endangered creatures rather than stand apart from them. In this playful act of sharing, the sculpture reminds us that conservation is not only about preventing loss but also about celebrating life and the bonds we can create when we come together. The open posture of the trio leaves space at the ends of the bench, inviting the public to sit down, join in the feast, and become part of the circle of care. The Panda Bench of Friendship becomes more than a resting place — it is a symbol of kinship, celebration, and the urgent call to protect these vulnerable creatures so that such moments of joy can endure.
Sculpture Title The Panda Bench of Friendship
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Vulnerable
About the Giant Panda The giant panda is a large, distinctive bear species native to the mountain forests of central China, primarily in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. Known for its striking black-and-white fur and gentle demeanor, the panda is an icon of wildlife conservation worldwide. Though classified as a carnivore, the giant panda’s diet consists almost entirely of bamboo, which it spends up to 14 hours a day eating to meet its nutritional needs. Its strong jaws and specialized wrist bones, functioning like thumbs, help it grasp and strip bamboo stalks efficiently.
For much of the 20th century, giant pandas faced severe threats from habitat loss, deforestation, and low birth rates. As bamboo forests were cleared for agriculture and development, their populations declined sharply. Intensive conservation programs, including the establishment of panda reserves, captive breeding, and forest restoration, have since helped the species rebound. Today, the giant panda’s status has improved from “Endangered” to “Vulnerable,” though its survival remains closely tied to habitat protection and climate stability. Beyond their ecological role as forest gardeners, pandas have become powerful symbols of conservation success and the enduring importance of protecting Earth’s biodiversity.
