Description The paparazzi are out in force but this pack thinks they’re focusing on the wrong things. Rather than chasing false stories and hounding celebrities, the pap dogs are taking a different approach. They’re here in Sydney, giving everyone the chance to have their 10 seconds of fame. They’ll always wait for your best angle.
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress. This is an important and exciting new focus for Gillie and Marc with a major New York show in January 2018.

The Penguin Bench of Friendship (Bronze Sculpture)
Description A captivating bronze sculpture bench invites the public into a scene of joy and reflection as Rabbitwoman and Dogman sit beside an endangered penguin, all three sharing the simple pleasure of eating icy poles together. The penguin, placed at the center of the bench, becomes the heart of this gathering, symbolizing both resilience in harsh environments and the fragile beauty of species now critically endangered. On either side, Rabbitwoman and Dogman — Gillie and Marc’s beloved Wildlife Warriors — mirror the penguin’s action, each holding their own icy pole. Their playful gesture emphasizes equality and companionship, showing that humans and animals can share in the same small pleasures of life. The openness of their posture leaves space on both ends of the bench, inviting the public to sit, join in, and become part of this moment of connection. The act of eating icy poles, lighthearted and fun, carries deeper symbolism. For the penguin, the icy treat evokes its frozen homeland — a poignant reminder of the ecosystems melting away under the threat of climate change. What appears whimsical at first glance becomes a gentle call to awareness: joy and sweetness must be protected, or they will melt away like ice in the sun.By joining this scene, visitors are reminded that conservation is not only about survival but also about preserving the joy, playfulness, and wonder of the natural world. The Penguin Bench of Friendship becomes more than a seat — it is a symbol of kinship, delight, and the urgent need to safeguard these extraordinary creatures before their icy world disappears forever.
Sculpture Title The Penguin Bench of Friendship
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Critically Endangered
About the Penguin Endangered penguins are among the most vulnerable seabirds on the planet, facing a growing number of threats from both natural and human causes. Species such as the African penguin, Galápagos penguin, and yellow-eyed penguin have seen dramatic population declines in recent decades. One of the biggest challenges they face is the loss of food sources due to overfishing, which reduces the availability of small fish like anchovies and sardines that penguins depend on. Climate change also plays a major role, as warming ocean temperatures shift fish populations and melt the ice habitats critical for breeding and nesting. In addition, oil spills, pollution, and habitat destruction from coastal development further endanger their fragile ecosystems. Many penguins are also threatened by introduced predators such as rats and cats that attack their eggs and chicks. Without stronger conservation actions—like marine protected areas, sustainable fishing practices, and habitat restoration—these iconic birds may continue to decline, endangering not only their species but the balance of the marine environments they help sustain.
How to Help Inspired by animals that Gillie and Marc met on their travels, we invite the public to discover and interact with these beautiful creatures up close and personal – this allows audiences to connect, take photographs and share their favourite species with friends and family.
With more exposure comes more awareness and builds on the love we already have for animals around the world. With love comes a greater sense of urgency to create a change and save all endangered animals.
The sculpture will be aligned with the hashtag #GillieandMarc and #LoveTheLast to raise unparalleled awareness about the sculpture’s cause across the globe.

Description This is an evocative and thought-provoking bronze sculpture that blends whimsy with a poignant message about conservation. The piece captures the delightful whimsy of a polar bear effortlessly skiing. Behind the bear, two sturdy spare bootstraps are affixed, inviting members of the public to stand behind him, hold on tight, and join in for the exhilarating ride. The polar bear’s posture and expression convey a sense of freedom and exhilaration, yet there’s an underlying aura of urgency. This urgency serves as a subtle reminder of the rapidly changing climate and the fragile environment that polar bears call home. The playful scenario—of not just a polar bear skiing, but also sharing the thrill with those who dare to join—acts as a bridge to engage viewers, making the experience deeply personal and participatory. “The Polar Bear Races on Skis” is more than an artistic marvel; it is a call to action, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty and wonder of the natural world while encouraging a commitment to its conservation and protection for future generations.
Sculpture Title The Polar Bear Races on Skis
Animal Name Name goes here Conservation Status Vulnerable
About the Polar Bear
Polar bears are highly vulnerable because their survival depends on sea ice, which is rapidly disappearing due to climate change. These powerful predators rely on ice platforms to hunt seals, their primary food source, and as the ice melts earlier in the spring and forms later in the fall, their hunting season grows shorter each year. With less access to prey, polar bears face malnutrition, lower reproductive rates, and increased mortality. They are also forced to travel greater distances or come into human communities in search of food, leading to dangerous conflicts. This combination of habitat loss, food scarcity, and climate pressures makes polar bears one of the most at-risk species in the Arctic ecosystem.

Description The paparazzi are out in force but this pack is the biggest of them all! All the dogs are out but this paparazzi pack has a different focus. Rather than chasing false stories and hounding celebrities, the pap dogs are taking a different approach. They’re here for the everyday person, giving everyone the chance to have their 10 seconds of fame.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the wood. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

Description In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with impasto to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. Recently inspired by the pop style of Andy Warhol and the iconic stencils of street artists Banksy and Mr. Brainwash, Gillie and Marc expanded their collection with the edgy addition of using spray paint stencils on their canvases. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description We believe that all living things have the right to live in a world where they are safe and loved. Unfortunately, safety is often seen as a privilege rather than a right for many animals. All species of rhinos are endangered, mainly because of poaching for their horn, and have had to hide from humankind for far too long. This little rhino is tentatively poking its head out from its hiding place, looking to see if it’s safe. We must welcome rhinos out from hiding and into a place of safety and love.

Description We love making stacks out of the things we love best, totem poles that show our hearts in fun and colour. At the top of this stack sits the beautiful rhino. We have always loved rhinos and have sworn to protect them. We were so incredibly lucky to meet the last 3 Northern White Rhinos on the planet, an unforgettable moment that has forever changed us. As we created the stack, adding in our love of coffee and delicious pears, it got us wondering, what would a rhino’s stack look like? It would probably include lots of food. But on the top of the stack, the thing that is most important in its heart would be the desire to be safe and loved, free from the threat of poachers. Let’s strive for a world where this is a rhino’s reality, not its dream.

Description This painting is based off Gillie and Marc's monumental bronze installation depicting the greatest animal march on the planet, it will feature 60 of the world’s most endangered species led by a great mountain gorilla, one of our closest relatives, marching together to save the animal kingdom by re-wilding the world. Inspired by the witness statement and latest documentary by David Attenborough, this sculpture is on a mission to re-wild the world. For such a big and important issue there needs to be a big messenger. Therefore, this public sculpture experience will be the largest bronze sculpture in the world at 192 meters in length, the next largest being the Statue of Unity’ at 182 meters.
At the front of the march will be a great silverback mountain gorilla, the head of his family who will do anything to protect them. He reaches out his hand, inviting the public to take hold and join him as he marches to protect his wild family. Holding on to him will be a chimp and the rest of the animals will link together in a single procession. This northern white rhino is third animal in the march.

Description All rhino species are endangered. In the last decade, 9,885 African rhinos have been lost to poaching. Even though the trend is starting to change for the better, 1 rhino is still killed every single day. The reason for this terrible loss are their beautiful horns, that are worth their weight in gold on the black market.
This amazing rhino defies all the odds, and runs free from the harsh world poaching has caused for his species.
Artwork Features Sending you to a world of luxury and opulence, this range of gold leaf paintings shows Rabbitwoman and Dogman at their finest. Inspired by the ancient methods of gold leaf and the more contemporary styles of Gustav Klimt, Gillie and Marc are showing the loving journeys of their favourite muses with an extra bit of sparkle. Gold leaf sheets are carefully laid onto the canvas, brushed, and smoothed out, adding a wonderful, glittery effect to its surface. Gillie and Marc believe that every moment can be a luxury. This idea is brought to life in these paintings, with even the simplest moments becoming incredible.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. Handle with clean, dry hands as oil from the skin will mark the gold leaf. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

Description The Rhino Sat on It brings unexpected charm and humor to the canvas, as a powerful rhinoceros perches gently atop a luxurious, vividly painted blue armchair. With a body streaked in bold reds, yellows, and greens, the rhino’s form is both commanding and endearing. Its thoughtful gaze adds a layer of quiet emotion, contrasting delightfully with the playful absurdity of the scene. Set against a warm tan background, Gillie and Marc invite us to consider strength through a softer lens—where even the toughest creatures can enjoy a moment of stillness, comfort, and a good seat.
Artwork Features In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.

Description To many, rhinos may seem like bad-tempered and less than beautiful creatures. But this young rhino is here to prove them all wrong. He may get a bit grumpy from time to time (who doesn’t!) but he and his kind are all beautiful. He is simply glowing, a beautiful display of shimmering gold, showing how beautiful and precious she and all rhinos truly are. Their horns are worth their weight in gold on the black market, but a living rhino roaming happy and free is worth so much more.

Description In a dreamy burst of colour and calm, this artwork captures a rhino settled comfortably into a classic armchair — not in the wild, but in a place of rest, safety, and belonging. The bold background of neon patterns and pastel graffiti contrasts with the rhino’s serene expression, suggesting that even the strongest creatures need moments of peace. By placing the rhino in a domestic setting, the piece flips expectations and invites us to rethink what “home” means. It’s a playful yet touching reminder that comfort is not just a human desire — it’s universal.
The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description This 'Round and Around With Wildlife' collection jumps right at you! Combining painting and sculpture, Rabbitwoman, Dogman and all the endangered animals of the world to burst off the wall in vibrant colour, refusing to be ignored or forgotten, giving new life and hope for their survival. Creating some of the world’s most innovative public sculptures, Gillie and Marc are re-designing what public art should be, spreading messages of love, equality, and conservation around the world. As part of the Love The Last project, Gillie and Marc are using their cutting edge contemporary art to showcase the beautiful animals of the world, to encourage people to not overlook and forget them.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the wood. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

Description It all began with a great storm. The greatest storms always excite the mind and soul. With their unstoppable power and ruthless destruction, nothing can withstand the force of the greatest storms. There is also the mystery of the eye, the calm centre within all the chaos. Storms are fascinating and it's with a storm that Shakespeare began his famous play, 'The Tempest'.
To celebrate the namesake of an area called ‘Miranda’ in NSW Australia, Gillie and Marc designed a stunning public sculpture in everlasting bronze based on the story of 'The Tempest'. This sculpture brings the story to life in a modern and accessible way, allowing people of all ages to appreciate and understand the theme.
It's all based around the plot of the sorcerer Prospero who seeks revenge against those who banished him years earlier. Similar to the fate of Prospero himself, the magician plans to create a tempest, a great storm, to shipwreck his enemies near the very same island where he and his daughter Miranda have been stranded all these years. In this sculpture, Prospero is seen foretelling his plot to his daughter Miranda.

Hundreds of tiger cubs are bred to be used as tourist attractions for petting. The cubs are only useful for 8 weeks and then they become too dangerous to interact with visitors. At 10 weeks most of them are killed.
This tiger cub was born to be free. Let’s make sure this is true for all tiger cubs.

Description In 2012, Gillie and Marc created a life-sized sculpture The Travellers Have Arrived to be featured in the Sculpture By the Sea exhibition in Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Gillie and Marc see Bondi as a pilgrimage where backpackers from around the world flock to call it home. In this artwork, Dogman and Rabbitwoman were inspired by Mary and Joseph and this artwork represented Bondi as a modern-day Bethlehem. Gillie and Marc believe that good things come in small packages so they recreated this beautiful sculpture as the perfect way to enliven spaces such as bookcases, windowsills, or even a bathroom.

Description Featured in 2012 Sculptures By the Sea, Bondi Now installed permanently at McClelland Gallery & Sculpture Park, VIC Each year in Sydney an outdoor sculpture exhibition called Sculpture by the Sea takes place for four weeks along the coastal walk of Bondi and Tamarama. Gillie and Marc have been a part of this festival twice now and have taken out awards for their artworks that have been seen by over a half million people In 2012, the artists created The Travellers Have Arrived for the event. The festival director’s response was that it was “brilliantly modelled” and a highlight for many visitors. “Bondi is a pilgrimage,” Marc says “Backpackers from around the world flock there to call it home. The characters were inspired by Mary and Joseph. So the sculpture represents Bondi as a modern-day Bethlehem.” The Travellers Have Arrived exemplifies the way art can make us feel small. These artworks remind us that we’re just like everyone else, we’re never alone in our travels – whether they’re across the world or across town for coffee. We’re all just ants in an ant farm. The Travellers Have Arrived is now on permanent exhibition at the McClelland Sculpture Park in Langwarrin, Victoria. The McClelland Sculpture Park is Australia’s leading sculpture park, and an innovative space for contemporary sculpture to be shown.
Tell me a little bit about “The Travellers Have Arrived”? How was it made? What does it mean to you? How did it end up in Las Vegas? ’The Travellers Have Arrived’ was a piece we originally created for the renowned outdoor sculpture exhibition, ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ in Sydney, Australia in 2012. The original location, Bondi, is like a pilgrimage for travellers from all around the world searching for surf, adventure, and a place to call home. Expertly crafted from silicon bronze, the characters of the sculpture were inspired by Mary and Joseph on their famous pilgrimage, turning Bondi into a modern day Bethlehem. The sculpture reminds us that we’re just like everyone else, we’re never alone in our travels, whether that takes us across the world or across town for a coffee ’The Travellers Have Arrived’ was moved to New York City where it lived for two years, but The Cosmopolitan had their eye on it. After conversations with the hotel, we decided that Las Vegas and The Cosmopolitan were a wonderful location for ‘The Travellers’ to move on to.
What makes this public art a good fit for Las Vegas and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas? When The Cosmopolitan approached us with their desire to have the sculpture moved to their hotel, we realised it would be a great fit. Welcoming other travellers from all across the world to one of the top tourist destinations, ‘The Travellers Have Arrived’ would become a welcoming and comforting sight to all who are seeking comfort and companionship while away from their home. Just like it was for Bondi, Las Vegas would become the modern day Bethlehem. As a luxury hotel, The Cosmopolitan is a great fit, tying in with the luxurious qualities of bronze and the stylish and innovative concept of the design.
Were there any unique challenges in bringing this to/installing this in Las Vegas? Yes, the distance the sculpture had to be transported and the weight of it. The sculpture weighs one tonne worth of bronze, so it is very heavy. This created a logistical challenge with a distance of 2,232 miles to cover from New York City to Las Vegas.
Being a married couple, what are some of the challenges/advantages of working together? We are incredibly lucky to work as a couple because we believe we are soul mates. We have lived and worked side by side for the past 27 years and it has been absolutely wonderful. We spark creativity within each other and encourage one another to push ourselves out of our comfort zones. We have had the most wonderful experiences, such as travelling to Kenya to meet and study the final three white rhinos, which we then created a hugely successful public sculpture to promote the struggles of these beautiful animals. It is wonderful to work as a team and we would not change it for the world.
Public art by renowned artists has become increasingly accessible to tourists and locals in Las Vegas resort-casinos? Any thoughts on this? It is fantastic that public art is becoming more accessible. Public art makes a city richer in terms of history, culture, and beauty. It is a wonderful way of telling a story or giving an important message. It can tell the history of the city, or showcase what is important for the people. Having this story told in a way that millions of people can access on a regular basis shows the importance of these messages and sparks conversations and passion on a scale that a work in a gallery could never invoke. We have been using our sculpture projects to try to contribute to the change we want to see in the world. By showcasing important issues such as conservation and gender equality, we are planting the seed for change into the minds of all who see them, a seed that could eventually blossom into activism and change.
