Description Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

With a close up of Australia’s most threatened bird and one of the world’s rarest parrots, the orange-bellied parrot, this unique form of conservation lets us see the last 50 wild individuals left on the planet with a beautiful close up.
“It can be difficult to imagine what extinction looks like so we wanted to create a work that would help the public visually understand what this means,” explains Gillie.
With 50 stunning paintings, the artists have captured the dwindling numbers of this endangered parrot in a series that can all fit on one wall. It is a sobering exhibit to help bring understanding to this important issue and inspire conservation.

Gillie and Marc believe that all people and all creatures have the right to live in a world where safety and love are the rule, not the exception. Description Entitled “Come out come out wherever you are” the sculptures call on the world to welcome endangered animals out from hiding, into a place of safety and love. Each animal is depicted tentatively appearing from a manhole. Viewers are asked to embrace them by helping to create a world in which they’ll be free from poaching and kidnapping, so they they may once and for all come out of hiding. These works are also an intrinsic part of Gillie and Marc’s Love the Last project, which aims to use public art to raise awareness, funds and support for some of the world’s most endangered species. Gillie and Marc want to create sculptures all around the world that tell the stories of these endangered species to drive positive change and ensure these animals don’t leave us forever.

Description Gillie and Marc love a challenge. When the artists were commissioned by 101 Collins Street – a Melbourne landmark and home to some of the city’s most influential businesspeople – they knew they had to bring some warmth to this cold and emotionless skyscraper.
A water feature sits in the foyer which the artists wanted to utilise. They made Coming Home, two stunning bronze swans with wings out in full span to show them mid flight, flying home. The artists added a marble plinth just under the surface of the water so the swans look like they’re flying out of a pond. It created an instant atmosphere of companionship in Melbourne’s hectic business district.

Description Date of Birth: Estimated 2004
Rescued from a failed Spanish zoo in January 2017. Lives at Born Free’s rescue section at Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary, South Africa.
Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple.

Description Exhibited at Woolloomooloo Wharf 2015.
Crab Riders is a three-piece artwork of three large-scale crabs, two of which are ridden by Dogman and Rabbitwoman. It was a part of the Sculpture by the Wharf Festival in Sydney’s glamorous Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo. Crab Riders continues the artists’ passionate exploration of environmental issues while encouraging playful interaction from the public. Gillie and Marc believe that crabs are more symbolic than ever, in a world facing incredible environmental challenges. Crabs are resilient and strong, thanks to their thick exoskeleton, and are some of the most ancient creatures to walk among us. The artists wanted the march of the crabs to continue in the face of ocean warming, pollution and acidification. It’s very easy to only care about animals that are cuddly and cute, but Gillie and Marc believe we should find compassion for even the strangest and scariest animals. Dogman and Rabbitwoman sit peacefully on top of the crabs encouraging us to do the same with the crab who is riderless. Climbing aboard a crab is a unique and clever way to instantly build a bond with these amazing creatures. One of the crab sculptures has also been permanently installed in Frankston Pier in Victoria.

Description In a swirl of expressive color and texture, Rabbitwoman and Dogman ride side by side on their scooter, united in both journey and spirit. Bold sweeps of ochre, teal, crimson, and white dance across the canvas in thick impasto layers, giving the figures a sculptural, almost three-dimensional presence. The simplicity of the grey background enhances the vibrancy of the palette, allowing every brushstroke to stand out. This work captures the essence of movement, companionship, and the joy of shared adventures—hallmarks of Rabbitwoman and Dogman’s enduring story.
Artwork Features Abstract art is one of the freest styles, a style where the artists are not bound by the limitations of reality and can let their imaginations and emotions run wild. In their first abstract collection, Gillie and Marc have created a wonderland of colour, creating scenes of the world around them in a way that transcends the traditional. Inspired by the great abstract artists such as the Delaunays, Kline, and Kandinsky, Gillie and Marc have evoked a celebration of colour and joy, showcasing their emotions in a vibrant scene that is both beautiful and unique.

Description Gillie and Marc were asked to create a bronze statue in Darrel’s likeness, so that his legacy could be immortalized at Latrobe. Darrel “Doc” Baldock started out an ordinary bloke from Quoiba in Tasmania, but during his lifetime he left a lasting legacy both statewide and nationally. The Doc captained the St Kilda Football club to its only premiership in 1966, was a champion horse breeder and trainer and a state politician until 1987, when he retired to coach his beloved Saints. Many who reach the same levels of success as Darrel Baldock lose grips on their humility and empathy for others. However, throughout his life, The Doc remained a humble and kind soul, loved by his friends, family and community. This sculpture has become a beloved staple at Latrobe, drawing in crowds who want to take photos with this legendary man. Recreating such a worthy role model in bronze reminds others to reach high, while never losing sight of their roots.

The painting captures a rare moment of stillness as a cheetah, portrayed in a seated position, faces the camera with a mix of elegance and melancholy. Behind this majestic creature, a moving silhouette in soft pastel hues delicately suggests the gradual disappearance of these incredible animals. The nuanced interplay between the cheetah's contemplative gaze and the fading shadows serves as a poignant metaphor for the diminishing population of cheetahs in the wild. "Dash" not only commemorates the beauty of this magnificent creature but also serves as a call to action, urging viewers to consider the urgent need for conservation efforts to ensure the survival of cheetahs and other endangered species in our rapidly changing world.

Description David Syme (1827-1908), newspaper proprietor, was born on 2 October 1827 at North Berwick, Scotland, fourth and youngest son of George Alexander Syme (1791-1845), schoolmaster, and his wife Jean, née Mitchell. G. A. Syme was a classical scholar, radical in both church and state, who became parish schoolmaster at Montrose, his native town, and from 1822 parish schoolmaster and clerk of the kirk session of St Mary, North Berwick. Never a popular citizen, he was strong-willed, obstinate in his opinions, nervous, arrogant, shy, brusque, inarticulate and awkward with his fellows. He passed these characteristics to his sons, especially to David, who like his brothers and sister, was taught by their father in the schoolroom attached to their house, but only he failed to escape from its atmosphere of close study, severe discipline and curt control. Much of his shyness, his nervous inability to join his fellows in business or companionship, arose from complete obedience to his father although Syme was never physically unkind to his sons. Of this David wrote in later years: 'It was difficult to understand my father's attitude to us boys. He had naturally a kind disposition; he was a devoted husband and no-one ever asked him for help that he did not freely give … but his affection for us never found expression in words'.

Positioned between the Colonial Life Arena and the State House, the statue stands as a lasting tribute to a trailblazer whose impact has resonated far beyond the court.

Her journey is marked by perseverance, excellence, and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. As head coach of the University of South Carolina’s women’s basketball team, Staley has led the program to multiple NCAA titles and elevated the Gamecocks to national prominence — reshaping the narrative around women’s sports and creating a legacy of excellence, leadership, and integrity.
Beyond her achievements in basketball, Staley has been a vocal advocate for equity, inclusion, and opportunity. Her influence extends into communities across America, inspiring generations of young athletes, especially African American girls, to dream boldly and lead fearlessly.
Renowned artists Gillie and Marc, known for their monumental tributes to iconic figures, shared their inspiration for the piece: “We wanted this sculpture to honour Dawn’s resilience, power, and vision.
