Description Climb aboard the wildest scooter in the world! Have you ever seen an elephant ride a scooter? How about a giraffe? Together, this wacky, wild crew are in search of safety. Along for the ride you’ll find a hippo, a Masai giraffe, an Indian elephant, a chimpanzee, a Grevy’s zebra, a cheetah, a koala, a northern white rhino, an orangutan, a lion and a mountain gorilla. Each is threatened by endangerment, mainly from poaching and habitat loss. Their only chance of survival is if everyone comes together, lending their peddling power to save all species.
Will you join us? Rabbitwoman and Dogman tell the autobiographical tale of two opposites coming together as best friends and soulmates. This beloved pair of characters work as our conduit with wildlife, helping us find joy in nature and rekindle our connection with the wild. In the last 50 years, 70% of the planet’s wildlife has been lost. We must act now to save them. Share your own photo with the hashtag #LoveTheLast and join the campaign for conservation.
The Animals The eleven endangered animals include; a koala, African elephant, girafe, Grevy’s zebra, lion, orangutan, cheetah, rhino, mountain gorilla, hippo and chimpanzee. They have each been invited to the party as representatives of some of the best-known species in the world. And yet they all are dangerously close to the same threat, extinction.
Koala: Koalas are the beloved icon of Australian wildlife, the adorable little marsupial with sleepy eyes and gigantic fluffy ears. They can be seen high in the embrace of eucalyptus trees, munching away on their favourite leaves for the vast majority of their day.
African elephant: The African elephant is the largest land animal in the world and wanders across 37 countries in Africa. They are a keystone species meaning they are crucial for their environment. They use their tusks to dig up dry riverbeds in the dry season, digging down to the water hidden underneath and creating water holes for others.
Masai giraffe: The tallest living animal in the world, the giraffe tower over the savannas of Africa. It’s good that they do because a group of giraffes is aptly named a tower! As a whole, the giraffe is listed as vulnerable but the Masai and reticulated species are endangered. The Masai populations have been estimated to have declined by 52% in the past few decades, mainly due to habitat loss and poaching.
Grevy’s zebra: With stripes as unique as our fingerprints, the zebra is an iconic member of African wildlife. Grevy’s zebra is the largest and most endangered and is more closely related to the wild ass than the horse, the more common plains zebras’ cousins.
Lion:The African lion, an emblematic symbol of strength and majesty, faces complex challenges in the wild. Habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and poaching have contributed to a decline in lion populations across Africa.
Orangutan:The orangutan, a critically endangered species of great ape found in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, is facing severe population decline due to habitat loss, illegal hunting, and the palm oil industry.
Cheetah:The cheetah, known for its unparalleled speed and sleek build, stands as one of Africa's most distinctive predators. Despite its remarkable capabilities, cheetah populations have faced a decline due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal wildlife trade.
Northern white rhino:There are two species of white rhino, the northern and southern. The southern rhino was thought to be extinct until the late 19th century when a small population was discovered in South Africa.
Mountain Gorilla:The mountain gorilla, a majestic and endangered species, commands attention as one of the most iconic primates. Residing in the high-altitude forests of Central Africa, these gentle giants face numerous threats, including habitat loss, poaching, and political instability.
Hippo:One of the most recognizable animals, this blubbery giant has charmed the world, even though it’s considered to be one of the most dangerous! They are at major risk from poaching, with a 2006 study showing a 20% reduction in their populations over the past decade. They are killed for their meat as well as the ivory from their tusks.
Chimpanzee: The chimpanzee is our closest living relative, sharing about 99% of our DNA. It’s even thought that we have a common ancestor who lived sometime between 7-13 million years ago!

Description In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The world is best described as an architectural masterpiece, but we take it for granted, and even deface it. We would never throw a cigarette butt at a Michelangelo, but the work of art we live in is at best unappreciated and at worst destroyed. Seeing God’s hands as the artist and creator in his artwork, the earth, we are reminded that the world is an art piece. When you look at its beauty again, I'm sure you will agree that God must have been the greatest artist of all.

Description High above the clouds, we can look down at the earth, watching the ant-sized antelopes crossing the Serengeti or the monumental trees of the Virunga forests descending to the size of broccoli. It’s a unique perspective that helps us to really appreciate the beautiful interconnectedness of everything. We are all tiny, but together we are huge.
Some of Gillie and Marc’s fondest memories have been looking at the world from this perspective, flying above some of nature's marvels in an aeroplane. They have taken thousands of photos of wildlife from above, flying across some of the most spectacular landscapes of Africa.
Now they have transformed these experiences into their very first exhibition of sculpture wall art. In a spectacular experiment combining traditional 2D paintings with sculpture, Gillie and Marc have recreated exactly how it feels to view these wild scenes from the sky. The tiny rhinos pop out of the wall as they go about their day, and the zebra herds gallop beyond the frame as they cross the plains of canvas to the unknown. Above A Wild World gives us a new perspective, capturing the very essence of what a bright future for all wildlife could look like.
Artwork Features This groundbreaking new style of sculpture wall art is merging the practices of sculpture and traditional paintings, creating a unique 3D work that conveniently hangs on your wall. By incorporating objects or cloth on the canvas with ample impasto, these works become so much more than just a painting. Finished off with either paint or spray paint, the final product transcends the constraints of both traditional sculpture and painting to create a work of depth and substance.

Location Marist Sisters' College,Woolwich NSW
Description This stunning life-sized bronze sculpture of Jeanne-Marie Chavoin embodies our Marist Tradition, representing the profound privilege of passing knowledge, values, traditions, and stories from one generation to the next.
Jeanne-Marie Chavoin, the French Foundress of the Marist Sisters, exemplified the Marist Sisters' commitment to the education of young women. She is depicted here with an open book in her hands, fully engaged in reading to her students. This generous act of dedication signifies the daily opportunities that learning brings to Marist students, opening the gateway to a world of future possibilities, each thriving on meaningful relationships. The gift of reading symbolises the transformative power of education and its spiritual values and traditions, which form the foundation of the Marist Sisters' philosophy, Marist Women of Action.
The senior student, exploring the map, seeks guidance and wise discernment from Jeanne-Marie. The dynamic connection between them is evident, characterized by their shared pursuit of knowledge and the confident arm of Jeanne-Marie. Similarly, the senior student, with her arm resting reassuringly on her sister's shoulder, captures a sense of genuine affection and belonging, while the younger sister responds with a look of admiration and trust. The three women are gathered around our Marist Compass, symbolizing courage, compassion, and gifts.
The Jeanne-Marie Chavoin (JMC) sculpture is strategically positioned on Futuna Terrace, allowing students the daily opportunity to make a passing "touch" or acknowledge Jeanne-Marie in reflection and prayer. Within the college, Jeanne-Marie stands as a visual reminder of the Marist Sisters' vision for the education and empowerment of young women. Her welcoming presence invites students and staff to unite and gather regularly, inspiring them to make individual and collective contributions to the college and wider community, thereby developing their unique Marist 'compass for life'.
The sculpture was blessed by Fr Tony Corcoran sm on 14 June 2024.

Dimensions 47.2 x 35.4 inch (H*W) 120 x 90 cm (H*W)
Description He Gave Her Butterflies portrays Rabbitwoman and Dogman on a classic red scooter, surrounded by a flurry of butterflies. The scene captures the essence of excitement and new love, with butterflies symbolizing the fluttering feeling of romance. Rabbitwoman’s embrace of Dogman as they journey together speaks to trust and affection, while the bold, warm colors and dynamic patterns create a sense of energy and joy. The butterflies encircling the couple add a touch of whimsy, reinforcing the idea that true love can make even the most ordinary moments feel magical. This artwork celebrates the thrill of love, companionship, and the butterflies that come with it.
Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. Recently inspired by the pop style of Andy Warhol and the iconic stencils of street artists Banksy and Mr. Brainwash, Gillie and Marc expanded their collection with the edgy addition of using spray paint stencils on their canvases. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description Paris is the city of love. Rabbitwoman and Dogman loved visiting the romantic capital, winding in and out of the streets on their bicycles, looking at all the boutique shops and incredible architecture. They could ride all day without getting tired. But maybe that’s because of all the coffee they stop for.
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the wood. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

Description World-famous artists create awe-inspiring public art in honour of Chinese New Year for Melbourne’s most unique shopping centre...bringing more than just good fortune to the city during ‘Year of the Dog’Melbourne’ St. Collins Lane, in partnership with internationally-renowned sculpture artists, Gillie and Marc, are proud to unveil a breathtaking new work of art on 260 Collins Street, honouring Chinese ‘Year of the Dog’.
The 190cm tall bronze installation features the artists’ iconic hybrid character named Dogman, holding a magnificent red apple. He knew this was going to be a year of good fortune, as the artwork is aptly titled, and aims to engage existing community residents while also attracting new visitors to this vibrant hub of multi-culturalism in Melbourne.
"In Chinese, the word for apple is ping. Ping also happens to be the word for peace this is a critical facet to the sculpture’s design,” says Gillie, partner to Marc and one of the artists behind Chinatown’s new public art. “In the face of last year’s unstable global landscape, an apple signifying peace holds particular importance by spreading the message of diversity and acceptance for all beings.” Marc echoed these sentiments saying, “Gillie and I feel deeply connected to this representation, as all of our art is built upon the foundation of love and togetherness.”
This dazzling sculpture can be found sharing a positive message and invigorating the experience in Melbourne’s new fashion flagship and dining destination, St. Collins Lane Shopping Centre. In Chinese tradition, when a dog enters a home it symbolizes the coming of good fortune. Dogs are loyal, clever and brave. Best friends to humans, they are known for having harmonious relationships with people from all-walks-of-life, and don’t discriminate against socio-economic status, race, religion, or orientation.
“We combined the powerful image of Dogman with an apple in the hopes of inspiring the public to be brave in the pursuit of a better world,” exclaimed Gillie. Gillie and Marc have worked side-by-side for over 25-years to create art as one. The artists first met on a film shoot in Hong Kong...then 7-days later, ran away to Nepal and married on the foothills of Mt. Everest. In the Chinese Zodiac chart, the dog and the rabbit are born to be a perfect pair. They understand each other by focusing on their similar traits, while facing difficulties with patience and open-minds. Coincidentally, Gillie and Marc are best known for their beloved characters –Dogman and Rabbitgirl –who tell the autobiographical tale of two opposites coming together to become best friends and soulmates.
As unlikely animal kingdom companions, the rabbit and the dog stand for diversity and acceptance. Gillie and Marc’s highly coveted private and public artworks can be found spreading this virtuous message to major cities all over the world, including New York, London, Sydney, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, and more! However, this year the artists feel very blessed to install their creation in honour of the ‘Year of the Dog’ on Collins Street in Marc’s hometown. This wondrous work of artist is sure to bring good fortune to all of Melbourne in 2018!

Dimensions 47.3 x 35.4 inch (H*W) 120 x 90 cm (H*W)
Medium Enamel on wood
Style Contemporary Pop Art, Romanticism, Adventure Description Dogman loved Rabbitwoman with all of his heart, he felt like words could never do justice for just how much he felt for his love. He tried to show her in so many ways, like surprising her with flowers in the middle of the day. Rabbitwoman felt all the ways he expressed his heart, she knew he was her one true love.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

He loves to drink wine that is full-bodied, a big red. Today he is drinking a particularly enjoyable red. He can almost imagine the grapes have turned to velvet in his mouth, filling his taste buds with an explosion of flavour. It is wonderful.
