Description In a poignant tribute to Sudan, the last remaining male northern white rhino who passed away in March 2018, the painting "He was the last of his kind in the world" captures the essence of his solitary existence. Dripping with hues of blue, the canvas portrays Sudan as a symbol of resilience and fragility, his presence fading into the depths of the cerulean backdrop. Each stroke of the brush echoes his legacy, standing as a solemn reminder of the consequences of human neglect and environmental degradation. Amidst the swirling hues, Sudan's silhouette remains a poignant reminder of the irreplaceable loss of biodiversity and the urgent need for conservation efforts.

Description Lewis was one of Australia’s dwindling population of wild koalas.
In January 2020, bushfires ravaged his home and caused him severe burns, eventually leading to his death. But even before the fires hit, Lewis was at risk. Human activity has resulted in habitat destruction and climate change, all of which have significantly reduced Australia’s koala population over the last 20 years. This little koala pendant is a loving reminder that wherever we are in the world, we share a space with precious animals that deserve to be safe in the wild. Artwork Features Imagine if we could wear our art so close to our souls that we end up embodying its beauty and meaning. Gillie and Marc have always appreciated creative pieces of jewellery, so it was only a matter of time before they decided to think outside the jewellery box and take jewellery to a whole new level by turning it into art wear.
Gillie and Marc’s gorgeous range of art wear is handcrafted from the highest quality of hypoallergenic materials. And as a beautiful bonus, a percentage of profits goes to various notable charities to protect animals in need. So embody your art, and buy jewellery that can change the world forever.
Gillie and Marc’s sterling silver is made of 92.5% pure silver + 7.5% alloys (a mixture of metals: brass, copper and zinc). It is nickel free.
Care Instructions Clean your silver jewellery with a mild soap and water and then dry with a soft cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use a cleaner designed for silver use. Store your silver in a cool, dry place. Do not rub silver with anything other than a polishing cloth. Tissue paper or paper towels can cause scratches.

Description Gillie and Marc were commissioned by the Henry Lawson Festival Committee and Weddin Shire Council to create a life-sized statue of Henry Lawson to go into his birth town, Grenfell. The artists were given a strict eight-month timeframe and stuck to that for the 2014 unveiling and opening of the Henry Lawson Festival. The artwork included a life-sized Henry Lawson sitting on a bench and included a light display. The artists were also keen to portray him as bohemian artist and troubled soul. They didn’t want him on a plinth, towering above people. Instead, a relaxed Lawson is poised, pen in hand on a park bench encouraging others to sit next to him and reflect on their surroundings.

Description Date of Birth: Estimated 2005-2008
Rescued from South Africa’s brutal canned hunting industry in 2019. Now living in a safe and secure sanctuary, cared for by Born Free.
Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

Description Hippo Wild Ride is a monument to the endangered species across the world that need our help. ‘Love The Last’ series aims to use public art to raise awareness, funds, and support for the most vulnerable animals. Rabbitwoman and Dogman, who appear perched up on the hippo, are Gillie and Marc’s symbols of unity and acceptance. They bring people together, just as the artists bring the conservation message to you. Hippo Wild Ride is not an artwork that says do not touch, instead, copy the duo as they invite you to jump up on the interactive sculpture. Rabbitwoman and Dogman want you to sit and climb on the sculpture, and be part of the cause and mission. Use the hashtag #LoveTheLast to share a selfie with the hippo, Rabbitwoman and Dogman, and join in the conservation of these beautiful animals – before it’s too late.
Turgwe Hippo Trust considers the hippo in Hippo Wild Ride, as the most photogenic hippo, with a hairier head and light skin. Named Kuchek after conservationist Karen Paolillo’s childhood pony, this beloved animal wanted to stay with his family, refusing to leave, which is typical male bull behaviour.
As male hippos draw to maturity, they are usually driven out by their family to make way for future calves and as not to spar with the dominant bull. Kuchek, however, refused to leave and stayed with his family no matter how much they fought him (fighting is normal hippo behaviour). In her 28 years of conservation work, Paolillo has only seen this behaviour in bull hippos twice! At the age of 13, Kuchek became in charge of his own family – after his parents left – and is now the father of four calves.

Description Hippos face danger everywhere they turn. Besides being hunted by their natural predators, they’re poached for their meat, fat and teeth, and they’re losing their habitat due to deforestation and human development. That might explain why this hippo has climbed to the top of a conveniently-placed ladder, stretching up to the sky and keeping her out of harm’s way. From these heights, however, she can also see the danger hippos and other animals are in. As she reaches a tentative foot out to his friends, she hopes for a day when all animals are safe.

With water holes drying up, these two hippos help to make sure they find space in the water for both of them. When poachers come around, they help protect each other from them. They are tied to each other and will not let the other down. They only wish that the humans wouldn’t make their bond of love so difficult to protect.

Description The Haast's eagle (Hieraaetus moorei, formerly called Harpagornis moorei) is an extinct species of eagle that once lived in the South Island of New Zealand, commonly accepted to be the pouakai of Maori legend.
The species was the largest eagle known to have existed. Its massive size is explained as an evolutionary response to the size of its prey, the flightless moa, the largest of which could weigh 230 kg (510 lb). Haast's eagle became extinct around 1400, after the moa were hunted to extinction by the first Māori. Gillie and Marc created this sculpture for Karamea which is a town on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Dimensions 23.62 × 17.72 inch (H*W) 60 x 45 cm (H*W)
Description This piece, Hold On by Gillie and Marc, presents a striking fusion of pop art, space exploration, and surreal humor. The astronaut, rendered in bold black outlines with halftone shading, floats against a neon-infused background reminiscent of cosmic energy and street art. The most unexpected and playful element is the oversized banana, which the astronaut clings to as if it were a vital tether in zero gravity. This juxtaposition of space-age adventure with an everyday object adds a surreal, whimsical twist, perhaps commenting on human nature, absurdity, or simply the joy of the unexpected. It’s a vibrant, eye-catching piece that merges nostalgia, pop culture, and humor in a truly unique way.
Artwork Features This artwork, She Was a Legend by Gillie and Marc, presents a striking pop-art-inspired portrait of an iconic woman. The bold use of color, stencil-like black outlines, and halftone dots evoke a classic comic book aesthetic, reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein’s work. The subject’s confident gaze, red lips, and pearl necklace exude vintage Hollywood glamour, while the pink flower in her mouth adds a playful, rebellious twist. The background’s graffiti-style patterns and vibrant hues create a contemporary contrast, blending nostalgia with modern street art influences. This piece captures the essence of timeless beauty and cultural iconography with a fresh, urban edge.

Description Holly the hare loved to run. She had marvellously long legs that could stretch for days making each of her bounds the length of an Olympic champion. She knows that many people don’t see her in this same beautiful light. In fact, most people seem to see her as a pest! She really can’t understand why. She just wants to race around the meadows beating her jumping records.
Artwork Features In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. Description "Honey, the facing Himalayan brown bear," unfolds as a poignant painting, capturing the essence of strength and vulnerability in the animal kingdom. The focal point of the painting is a powerful Himalayan brown bear, its imposing figure confronting the viewer with a regal intensity. The artist skillfully uses bold strokes to highlight the bear's majestic stature, emphasizing its resilience in the face of environmental challenges. Behind this formidable creature, a delicate dance of moving silhouettes in pastel hues unfolds, subtly symbolizing the gradual disappearance of these magnificent animals. The interplay between the bear's unwavering gaze and the gentle, fading shadows serves as a visual metaphor for the increasing threats faced by these creatures. "Honey" beckons viewers to reflect on the urgent need for conservation, underscoring the fragile coexistence between the strength of wildlife and the impermanence of their existence in the modern world.

Description Everyone loves to play Jenga, carefully removing the bricks, with butterflies in their stomachs, hoping they’ve balanced it right so the tower doesn’t come crashing down. Jenga is a Swahili word meaning ‘to build’. It’s important to build the tower with complete cohesion, each brick affecting the stability of the others. Inspired by the events of Covid-19, this sculpture looks at how we can use the lessons we have learned and apply them to create a better, kinder world. As we look to build up again, we must think of all the pieces, making sure they are all in harmony: people, business and nature. If we don’t balance all the pieces, the entire stack will fall. We must build a better world so all the animals of the world, like the hippo, can stand strong at the top of the tower.

Description When Gillie was five years old she lived in Africa and witnessed an elephant being shot before her eyes. This image has had a profound effect on all our work, and protection of animals is a constant theme in all our work. The African women told stories from the past when elephants were so great in numbers they fell from the sky. The truth is in 1930 there were 10 million elephants in Africa. Today that number is less that 400,000. This sculptures plays with gravity and what is possible and what is not. By playing with the impossible we hope that the viewer will realize what it takes to save elephants. Together we do everything we can to protect wildlife.

Description Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple.

Description In "In Love in New York," this captivating and surreal artwork presents Rabbitwoman and Dogman, elegantly dressed in formal attire, riding a rhinoceros through the bustling streets of New York City. The contrast between the refined, almost vintage style of the couple and the urban setting filled with buses, traffic lights, and skyscrapers creates a striking juxtaposition. The rhinoceros, symbolizing strength and resilience, serves as their unusual but majestic mode of transport.

Description Acquired by Woollahra Council for permanent display in Paddington, Sydney. This sculpture is installed on the corner of Glenmore Road and Cascade Street for all to enjoy.
Gillie and Marc believe art should be seen and enjoyed by as many people as possible. The artists also want their Dogman and Rabbitwoman characters to resonate with the community, and they’ve been successful at achieving this. In 2011, Gillie and Marc jumped at the chance to be a part of Woollahra Council’s Public Art Program – an initiative for artists to give public spaces a creative makeover. It Takes Two perfectly embodies the culture of Paddington, the Sydney Suburb a part of Woollahra council. “Paddington is an inner city urban community, where car parking is difficult and coffee shops are plentiful,” said Marc. “So our Dogman and Rabbitwoman are on a Vespa drinking a cappuccino. They represent the archetypal Paddington couple.” In fact, the portrayal is so spot-on that locals love to dress them up, while visitors enjoy getting their photo taken with the creative couple.
