Bronze with Blue Patina
Contemporary Sculpture, Figurative, Wildlife
Hippos are vulnerable to endangerment, their numbers dwindling as poachers eye up their tusks. But one species is so rare that hardly anybody has heard of it, the Tree Hippo. These beautiful animals are the stuff of fairy tales, elegantly perched in the branches of trees, seemingly weightless considering their great size. These hippos are the guardians of the African water holes, watching out over the few remaining holes that their fellow hippos love to wallow in. They try their best to keep order in these ever-shrinking pools, trying to find a way to save the remaining spots from the rising temperatures.
