About the Exhibition:
The Wild About Babies exhibition is a global project that celebrates the beauty, innocence, and vulnerability of baby animals while delivering a powerful conservation message. Through masterful bronze sculptures of critically endangered species, this project captivates audiences and inspires action to protect wildlife.
First showcased at Dockland Melbourne, the exhibition has since traveled to prestigious locations across Australia and the UK, including Perth Museum, Melbourne Zoo, and Perth Zoo. In 2024, the exhibition moved to the historical Paternoster Square in London before its current installation at the Kingston Upon Thames Art Trail.
Central to the exhibition is the universal connection people share with baby animals. Overflowing with innocence and charm, these sculptures evoke an instinctual love and a profound urge to protect. By highlighting endangered species and their challenges, Wild About Babies transforms public spaces into interactive platforms for wildlife conservation.
About the Project:
The Wild About Babies project raises awareness of the sixth mass extinction, an urgent crisis impacting wildlife worldwide. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) reported in 2020 that 203 mammalian species are critically endangered, with many on the brink of extinction due to climate change, habitat destruction, and poaching. This project emphasizes humanity’s critical role—not only as a cause of the problem but as a potential solution.
At its core, the exhibition invites people to reconnect with nature and take action. It features bronze sculptures of baby animals—symbols of hope and renewal—while a towering 3-meter Wild Mother Gorilla stands as a universal protector. Her outstretched arms welcome all creatures, including visitors, reminding us that we must unite to safeguard the planet’s future.
Since its inception, Wild About Babies has been exhibited globally, engaging audiences in London, Perth, and Melbourne. By creating interactive experiences that allow people to touch, play, and learn, the project aims to inspire love and collective action for wildlife conservation.
About the Sculpture:
The Wild About Babies series features 20 expertly crafted bronze sculptures of critically endangered baby animals, standing approximately 1 meter tall. Each sculpture is a lifelike representation of a real animal, from Wild Baby Bengal Tigers to Wild Baby Javan Rhinos, all set within naturalistic environments of rocks and plants that mirror their habitats.
At the heart of the exhibition is Wild Mother Gorilla, a monumental 3-meter sculpture with arms spread wide. She serves as a powerful symbol of protection and love, welcoming not just the 20 baby animals but all visitors who encounter her.
The sculptures are interactive, inviting visitors to engage physically and emotionally with the artwork. Each piece includes a QR code that links to real-life stories, photos, and educational content about the animals, deepening public understanding of endangered species and their struggles.
