Hawthorn Legend Peter Hudson was honoured with the unveiling of a statue in his hometown of New Norfolk in Tasmania on Monday.

A proud Tasmanian, Hudson began his playing career in New Norfolk, booting 378 goals in just 78 games over seasons with the club. At the beginning of the 1967 season, Hudson made the move to Hawthorn, where he would go onto play 129 games and boot 727 goals. He would return to his home state later in his career, playing 81 games over five seasons with Glenorchy in the Tasmanian State League.

A member of the Tasmanian Team of the Century, a Legend of the Australian Football and Hawthorn Hall of Fames and a Hawks 1971 premiership player, Hudson has one of the most decorated football resumes in the game's history.
