Fame and fortune is a dog’s life according to a new exhibition at Bankstown Central.

Seven life-size sculptures of dogs and other animals recreating celebrities and their famous poses opens tomorrow. There is Michael ‘Dog’ Jackson and Pamela ‘Poodle’ Anderson plus Arnold ‘Stag’ Schwarzenegger, Dr ‘Bear Evil’ and Jessica Rabbit in the Fashion Gallery tomorrow from 11am and throughout April.

Award-winning contemporary artists Gillie and Marc will attend the opening of their latest sculpture exhibition, The Celebrity Animal, which features the bodies of major celebrities, past and present, and the heads of a variety of animals.

The Sydney-based husband and wife duo are best known for their hybrid characters Dogman and Rabbitgirl which have proved popular in Australian and overseas.

In conjunction with the exhibition is the opportunity for shoppers to win their own Orange Lolly Dogman sculpture or one of four $100 Myer gift vouchers.

Entrants take a shot of themselves with one of the sculptures and upload it to Instragram via#bankstownfamous.

The prizes will be awarded to the contestants who best capture the essence of their chosen celebrity.

Also on offer will be a free Napoleon Perdis Makeover on the launch day at 11am-2pm.
