Description
It Looks Like Rain brings a moment of quiet reflection to life through the soulful gaze of a chimpanzee holding a vibrant green and yellow umbrella. With its gentle expression and human-like posture, the chimp invites us to consider the emotional depth and vulnerability of our animal cousins. Splashes of neon pink, orange, and lime energize the figure, while the umbrella’s broad arc suggests both protection and playfulness. Gillie and Marc use bold brushstrokes and color contrasts to merge whimsy with empathy, reminding us of the intelligence, sensitivity, and shared spirit we have with the animal kingdom.
Artwork Features
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions
