Rhino Wild Ride is a monument to the endangered species across the world that need our help. ‘Love The Last’ series aims to use public art to raise awareness, funds, and support for the most vulnerable animals.
Rabbitwoman and Dogman, who appear perched up on the Rhino, are Gillie and Marc’s symbols of unity and acceptance. They bring people together, just as the artists bring the conservation message to you. Rhino Wild Ride is not an artwork that says do not touch, instead, copy the duo as they invite you to jump up on the interactive sculpture.
Rabbitwoman and Dogman want you to sit and climb on the sculpture, and be part of the cause and mission. Use the hashtag #LoveTheLast to share a selfie with the Rhino, Rabbitwoman and Dogman, and join in the conservation of these beautiful animals – before it’s too late.
In 2018, Gillie and Marc launched a tribute to the Northern White Rhino with their sculpture The Last Three, unveiled in the heart of New York City. Unfortunately, it couldn’t save Sudan, the last male of the species, who passed away just weeks after the opening of the sculpture.
Through this incredible sad period for conversation efforts, Gillie and Marc realised how the sculpture had captured the public’s attention both on the street and online.
Thousands of people had sent goodbye messages to the last three rhinos, signed the petition to crack down on the trade of illegal rhino horn; and, donated money to Ol Pejeta Conservancy to help protect the last two Northern White Rhinos and the other endangered species that call Ol Pejeta home.
