Description
In the eyes of this gorilla, you can see more than strength—you see experience, grit, and the heart of a true champion. With his golden gloves raised and a calm fire in his gaze, he’s not just ready to fight—he’s already won the battles that matter. This artwork captures the spirit of resilience: the quiet power that comes from overcoming, from standing tall, again and again. He Was the Champ reminds us that true greatness isn't loud—it's steady, grounded, and deeply earned.

Artwork Features
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.

Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.

Care Instructions
It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
