Description
"Knight, the Disappearing White Rhino" captures a hauntingly beautiful yet tragic scene as a white rhino, named Knight, stands amidst a backdrop of moving silhouettes rendered in soft pastel hues, symbolizing the gradual disappearance of its species. The fading contours of the rhino evoke a sense of poignancy and loss, underscoring the heartbreaking reality of extinction due to poaching and habitat loss. Against this backdrop of fading silhouettes, the painting serves as a powerful commentary on the urgent need for conservation efforts to protect endangered species like Knight and to preserve the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Through its evocative imagery and subtle symbolism, the artwork urges viewers to confront the devastating consequences of human actions on the natural world and to take meaningful steps towards conservation and preservation.
Artwork Features
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
