Description
Meet Tamu, a little bronze rhino with a big story.
Tamu’s sculpture captures the spirit of a real-life orphan who faced a heartbreaking start to life. Like so many baby rhinos, Tamu lost his mother — a tragedy that happens far too often. Sometimes, it’s nature. But more often, it’s the devastating result of poaching.
Today, all rhino species are endangered. Over the past decade, 9,885 African rhinos have been killed for their horns. Even though conservation efforts are making a difference, one rhino is still lost every single day. Their horns, falsely believed to have medicinal powers, are sold on the black market at prices higher than gold.
Through this sculpture, Tamu stands as a symbol of resilience, hope, and the urgent need to protect these magnificent creatures before it’s too late.
