Description
Luna, the Vanishing African Elephant is a vibrant yet poignant portrayal of the African elephant, depicted through expressive brushstrokes and a dynamic explosion of colors. The layers of abstract paint seem to merge and dissolve into the dark background, symbolizing the disappearing presence of these majestic creatures due to habitat loss and poaching. The contrast between the vivid colors and the fading outlines suggests both the beauty and fragility of nature, urging the viewer to reflect on the urgency of conservation efforts. Luna stands as a powerful reminder of what we stand to lose if action is not taken.
Artwork Features
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
