Description
The mandrill sat and waited, a feeling of serenity washed over him. He had been through a lot. He had seen members of his troop being killed and then taken away for a huntsman’s dinner. He had watched as the humans came ever closer with their big machines, tearing down the habitat to grow their own food. But despite all of this the mandrill still felt hope. He could feel it running through his body like electricity, bursting through the ends of his fur with sparks. This was not the end for him, he was going to survive and was ready for anything.
Artwork Features
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions
It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
