Description
Rabbitwoman and Dogman share a quiet and intimate moment over coffee, surrounded by the colourful streets and iconic architecture of Paris. Sitting close together with the Eiffel Tower rising behind them, their relaxed expressions and affectionate closeness create a warm sense of companionship and connection. The vibrant buildings, bold colours, and strong black outlines give the scene a playful contemporary energy, while the simple act of sharing a drink becomes a celebration of togetherness. The work captures the feeling that even an ordinary moment can become extraordinary when shared with someone special.
Artwork Features
Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.
