Description The painting titled "Luna, the fading Amur Leopard" is a captivating portrayal of the endangered Amur leopard, capturing the essence of its grace and vulnerability. The focal point of the artwork is the majestic Amur leopard, facing the camera with a piercing gaze that reflects its strength amidst the threat of extinction. Behind the leopard, a moving silhouette in pastel colors symbolizes the gradual disappearance of these magnificent creatures from their natural habitat. The fluid brushstrokes and the movement in the paint and pastel create a sense of fading, underscoring the urgency to protect and preserve these endangered animals. The title, "Luna," adds a touch of mystique and poignancy, reminding viewers of the ethereal beauty that is slowly slipping away, urging us to take action before it's too late.

The layers of abstract paint seem to merge and dissolve into the dark background, symbolizing the disappearing presence of these majestic creatures due to habitat loss and poaching. The contrast between the vivid colors and the fading outlines suggests both the beauty and fragility of nature, urging the viewer to reflect on the urgency of conservation efforts. This is a yearlong celebration of hope and strength for the generation who will grow up into the healthy and supported elephants of tomorrow thanks to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The future of their species in the wild relies on this young generation being strong. Strength we can all help to provide. Because by December next year, when this sculpture leaves London, they’ll have only 19 years left to defy the odds with another generation to follow. This is a sculpture for positive change. One we won’t let become a memorial.

Description Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

Description Koalas are marsupials, which mainly means their young are born before they are ready to live in the outside world. So when this koala joey was born, still an embryo, she would have instinctively headed for her mama’s pouch. There she would have stayed for six months, suckling constantly. When she was strong enough to survive outside the pouch and start eating eucalyptus leaves, she would have left her mama’s pouch and clambered onto her back, which is how we find this mother and daughter, making their way through their eucalyptus forest.

Description This sculpture portrays an endangered elephant standing atop a skull finished in a rich gold leaf finish, creating a powerful juxtaposition between life and looming extinction. The elephant—majestic yet vulnerable—symbolizes the fragility of species threatened by human activity, while the golden skull beneath it represents both the value of what we stand to lose and the destructive forces driving that loss. Description "Maple, the facing Himalayan brown bear," captures a moment of both strength and melancholy in a captivating painting. At the forefront stands a powerful brown bear, its fur rendered with rich, earthy tones, facing the viewer with a commanding presence. Behind this formidable creature, a poignant narrative unfolds as a moving silhouette in soft pastel hues symbolizes the gradual disappearance of these majestic animals. The delicate dance of shadows serves as a visual lament for the diminishing presence of Himalayan brown bears in their natural habitats. "Maple" beckons viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between the awe-inspiring might of wildlife and the increasing threats they face. The dynamic composition and subtle interplay of colors implore observers to contemplate the urgent need for conservation, urging a collective effort to preserve the beauty and existence of these remarkable creatures.

Description This artwork explores the phenomenon of celebrity idolization and the complex intersection between fame and personal identity. Marilyn Monroe, an enduring icon of beauty and glamour, represents the allure and illusion of celebrity status. The inclusion of Rabbitwoman and Dogman, symbolic characters in their own right, suggests that even mythical figures can become infatuated with the idol status that society bestows upon certain individuals. The painting delves into the complexities of projection and perception, raising questions about the role of fame in shaping both the idol and their adoring fans. It serves as both an homage to Marilyn Monroe's enduring legacy and a thought-provoking exploration of the idol-fan relationship, inviting viewers to reflect on the nature of idolization and its impact on individual and collective identity.

In a groundbreaking work of contemporary art Gillie and Marc are giving us a rare glimpse into what extinction looks like. With a close up of Australia’s most threatened bird and one of the world’s rarest parrots, the orange-bellied parrot, this unique form of conservation lets us see the last 50 wild individuals left on the planet with a beautiful close up.
“It can be difficult to imagine what extinction looks like so we wanted to create a work that would help the public visually understand what this means,” explains Gillie.
With 50 stunning paintings, the artists have captured the dwindling numbers of this endangered parrot in a series that can all fit on one wall. It is a sobering exhibit to help bring understanding to this important issue and inspire conservation.

Location Hope Vale Council
Description Matthew Bowen is a revered rugby league player and one of NRL’s community ambassadors. He grew up in Hope Vale, an Indigenous community in Cape York. Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council commissioned Gillie and Marc to create a sculpture of Bowen. After his retirement, Bowen wanted to give back to his former club, so he took up a role as Community Engagement Officer for the North Queensland Cowboys. He was later selected as one of NRL’s Community Ambassadors for his impressive contributions. He’s an inspiring figure to the local region, and a bronze was a fitting tribute. The artists portrayed a powerful and muscular Bowen running with the ball, to show off his talent and sporting prowess. The sculpture, which paid due tribute to a strong member of the Indigenous community, helps motivate the next generation, letting them know that with kindness and hard work they’ll be able to achieve their goals.
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc love working in bronze for many reasons. Bronze is a very hardy material and will last forever. Description Maurice loved to travel. He could never live as his descendants do now, fenced in and forced to either give wool or produce babies to be slaughtered. That’s a terrible life. But he isn’t like these sheep, he is wild. He would roam around his Caspian home like a great explorer, climbing high up mountains and exploring grassy meadows below. He couldn’t wait to see where he would end up next.

This is a sculpture that represents more than orphaned calves.
Mbegu is part of Gillie and Marc's exhibition - The Orphans.

Description Melbourne is one of the greatest cities to live in. There is so much going on that it’s impossible to get bored. For Rabbitwoman and Dogman, this was a dream! Every day would be a new adventure. Picnics in the park, exploring museums and galleries, visiting funky cafes, and soaking up the local music. They always have so much fun in Melbourne.
Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.

MINI Paceman - Sydney CBD
Gillie and Marc were one of three artists commissioned to create a unique billboard mural as part of a series for the MINI Paceman. The mural ran as a billboard in Sydney and now resides at the MINI Gallery in Melbourne. The goal was to interpret the MINI Paceman with a new slant on things. Incorporating Dogman and Rabbitgirl into the artwork gave human characteristics to the iconic MINI and created the idea of a strange world where a dog and a rabbit would stop to take a photo of a MINI Paceman scooting down a red carpet. “We do like to have a lot of humour in our art,” said Gillie. “We like to have that fun element.” “It’s biographical,” explained Marc. “I’m the dog and Gillie’s the rabbit. We’re two complete opposites as a rabbit and a dog but we’re partners in life, and lovers even though we’re an unlikely couple. The MINI Paceman is an unlikely car but it’s changing the way we see cars.” The artists decided to create the car as a personality with Dogman and Rabbitgirl totally mesmerised by it. “The MINI Paceman is an icon and it’s going to be an icon for years to come,” said Marc. “It’s a fun car and the whole idea of the MINI is to go out and enjoy.”

Description Introducing "More Than Just a Hoodie," a captivating wall sculpture that defies expectations and explores the complex nature of identity. Crafted from sleek aluminum, this thought-provoking artwork challenges the traditional notion of what constitutes a sculpture. With meticulous attention to detail, the empty hoodie appears as though a person is lurking within, creating an illusion that intrigues and captivates viewers.

This is a sculpture that represents more than orphaned calves.

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) is one of East Africa’s oldest and most pioneering conservation charities. Description Musiara's Story This tiny calf was first observed by a film crew on the plains of the Maasai Mara and after hours of observation it became clear to them that something was definitely not as it should be, as the calf was very weak, and appeared a stranger to the herd. While the herd he was trailing were certainly curious of him, with one female in particular paying special attention, there were no lactating females present in the herd, and soon they left him behind while they moved on with their browsing. It was at this point the film crew first alerted the authorities and Warren Samuels called Angela and sent through photographs of the baby suspecting he was an orphan and might require rescuing.
Musiara is part of Gillie and Marc's exhibition - The Orphans.
