Description |This bronze sculpture is the result of a unique collaboration between Disney and contemporary art duo Gillie and Marc, blending classic pop culture with contemporary fine art. Disney contributes one of its most beloved icons—Mickey Mouse—while Gillie and Marc add their distinctive, playful approach to sculptural storytelling. In “Mickey Loves Koalas,” Mickey gently embraces an endangered koala, capturing a moment of compassion. Their hug symbolizes unity, empathy, and the shared desire to protect vulnerable wildlife, reminding viewers of the deep bond between humans, animals, and the natural world. Mickey’s warm embrace suggests that simple acts of care—toward one another and the planet—hold great meaning. The koala resting safely in his arms highlights both the fragility and beauty of species in need of protection. Style Contemporary Pop Art, Wildlife
Edition Number /15
Description This monumental fibreglass sculpture is the result of a unique collaboration between Disney and Gillie and Marc, bringing together timeless pop culture and contemporary public art in one joyful, larger-than-life work.
In this piece, Mickey and Minnie ride alongside an endangered elephant on a bicycle built for adventure, creating a scene that is both whimsical and meaningful. Their journey is not only about movement and fun, but about togetherness—different beings traveling side by side in harmony. With one seat left empty, the sculpture invites the public to climb on and become part of the ride, transforming the artwork into a shared experience rather than something simply observed from afar.
More than a charming public sculpture, the work carries an important message about connection to wildlife and our shared responsibility to protect the animals we are at risk of losing. The open seat is a powerful gesture: it asks each of us to join the journey and take our place in the story. By inviting people to sit beside Mickey, Minnie, and the elephant, the sculpture becomes an uplifting call for empathy, joy, and action.
Together, Disney and Gillie and Marc have reimagined these iconic characters in a bold three-dimensional form that speaks to audiences of all ages. For Disney fans, it offers a fresh and unexpected way to experience cherished characters in the public realm; for admirers of Gillie and Marc, it reflects their enduring themes of love, partnership, play, and wildlife conservation. The result is more than a monumental sculpture—it is an interactive celebration of storytelling, friendship, and the idea that the journey toward a better world is one we must all take together.
Artwork Features For the most part, fiberglass sculptures are the same as resin sculptures.
A resin sculpture is a work of art cast with the material fiberglass, a material that is perfect for making beautiful sculptures. Not only is it very light, but it is also incredibly durable and malleable making it the perfect material to mould into whatever intricate shape you like while knowing it will last for a very long time.
When creating beautiful sculptures in fiberglass and resin, Gillie and Marc like to have a bit of fun. Sometimes works are crafted in one bold color, sometimes they are splashed with many colors. For every purchase of a fiberglass sculpture you will receive a certificate of authenticity, titled, signed, dated and editioned by the artists.
Care Instructions Fiberglass sculptures are best kept indoors or under cover away from direct sunlight. They will require periodical maintenance. We recommend not placing your fiberglass sculpture outside however, if you choose to do so, please be aware that wear and tear will occur. Surrounded by vibrant sprays of colour, the scene feels full of motion, freedom, and joy. It’s a playful reminder that the best adventures happen when we’re with the ones we love — no map, no destination, just the journey.
Artwork Features The purest example of the artist’s freehand work, Gillie and Marc’s ‘Contemporary Line & Stencil Paintings’ are a stunning series that pairs unashamedly bold colors with deep black line work to form intimate moments featuring their signature alter egos, endangered wildlife and more. The carefully selected vivid colors and unmistakable imagery means no two pieces are alike and can have multiple meanings the more they are viewed. Gillie and Marc paint each unique canvas side-by-side ensuring love is engrained in every brushstroke of each one-of-a-kind work of art. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

MINI Paceman - Sydney CBD
Gillie and Marc were one of three artists commissioned to create a unique billboard mural as part of a series for the MINI Paceman. The mural ran as a billboard in Sydney and now resides at the MINI Gallery in Melbourne. The goal was to interpret the MINI Paceman with a new slant on things. Incorporating Dogman and Rabbitgirl into the artwork gave human characteristics to the iconic MINI and created the idea of a strange world where a dog and a rabbit would stop to take a photo of a MINI Paceman scooting down a red carpet. “We do like to have a lot of humour in our art,” said Gillie. “We like to have that fun element.” “It’s biographical,” explained Marc. “I’m the dog and Gillie’s the rabbit. We’re two complete opposites as a rabbit and a dog but we’re partners in life, and lovers even though we’re an unlikely couple. The MINI Paceman is an unlikely car but it’s changing the way we see cars.” The artists decided to create the car as a personality with Dogman and Rabbitgirl totally mesmerised by it. “The MINI Paceman is an icon and it’s going to be an icon for years to come,” said Marc. “It’s a fun car and the whole idea of the MINI is to go out and enjoy.”

This is a sculpture that represents more than orphaned calves. This is a yearlong celebration of hope and strength for the generation who will grow up into the healthy and supported elephants of tomorrow thanks to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The future of their species in the wild relies on this young generation being strong. Strength we can all help to provide. Because by December next year, when this sculpture leaves London, they’ll have only 19 years left to defy the odds with another generation to follow. This is a sculpture for positive change. One we won’t let become a memorial.

Description Musiara's Story This tiny calf was first observed by a film crew on the plains of the Maasai Mara and after hours of observation it became clear to them that something was definitely not as it should be, as the calf was very weak, and appeared a stranger to the herd. While the herd he was trailing were certainly curious of him, with one female in particular paying special attention, there were no lactating females present in the herd, and soon they left him behind while they moved on with their browsing. It was at this point the film crew first alerted the authorities and Warren Samuels called Angela and sent through photographs of the baby suspecting he was an orphan and might require rescuing.

Description Set against the unmistakable silhouette of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Dogman and Rabbitwoman glide through London on a bright red tandem bike. In this vibrant pop-art piece, Rabbitwoman beams as she enjoys the ride, while Dogman steers them forward with purpose. Their journey through the iconic cityscape reflects love, trust, and a shared spirit of adventure — a reminder that life is more fun when we take turns leading the way.
Recently inspired by the pop style of Andy Warhol and the iconic stencils of street artists Banksy and Mr. Brainwash, Gillie and Marc expanded their collection with the edgy addition of using spray paint stencils on their canvases. The stark contrast of bright colors beneath a dark stencil breathes life into this limited series, embodying Gillie and Marc’s philosophy of the importance of accessible art by playfully bringing the street to the canvas.

Description Before they became symbols of hope for an entire species, Najin and Fatu were simply a mother and daughter — two northern white rhinos living side by side, with a bond that has endured through extraordinary loss. Today, they are the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, carrying with them the story of a species that has come heartbreakingly close to disappearing forever.
Now, reimagined as collectible plush keychains, Najin and Fatu become something you can carry with you wherever you go — clipped onto your bag as a small but powerful reminder of what is at stake. Their playful colours and personalities may make you smile, but behind them is a story that matters enormously.
Najin and Fatu symbolise hope, survival, and our responsibility to protect the wildlife we still have. Carrying them with you is more than having a cute little rhino by your side — it’s carrying their story into the world and helping ensure that the last two northern white rhinos are seen, remembered, and never forgotten.
Care Instructions Plush toys are easy to care for but benefit from gentle handling and regular upkeep: keep them in a cool, dry place and avoid damp environments; lightly shake or brush them to remove dust; for cleaning, start with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, and if needed hand wash briefly in lukewarm water with gentle detergent, squeezing softly without wringing; if machine washing is suitable, place them in a laundry bag on a delicate cold cycle; always air dry away from direct heat or sunlight to protect the fabric and shape, and avoid long-term compression so they stay soft, full, and beautifully formed.

Description Ndotto's Story On the very peak of the Ndoto Mountains, in Kenya’s remote Northern Frontier District, a tiny newborn baby elephant was found confused, alone and scared in a throng of sheep and goats. This little calf had evidently become mixed up in the nomadic Samburu tribesmen’s livestock soon after he was born. It is probably that the human presence is what frightened his mother leaving the abandoned calf mixed up in the livestock. The traditional Samburu pastoralists here live in an extremely isolated and inaccessible area of Kenya, a beautiful and majestic landscape. Despite many of the Samburu people being sympathetic and use to living this life of coexistence between man, their livestock and the wild animals, sometimes human wildlife conflict can unintentionally create these kinds of tragedies.

Description Inspired by the true story and the film ‘Born Free’, this sculpture is a celebration of an orphaned lion cub who was saved by a loving couple. In Northern Kenya, a game warden called George Adamson was sent to deal with a lion who killed a man. Finding three cubs that were left behind he took them home to his wife, Joy, naming them Big One, Lastika and Elsa. They raised the cubs themselves rehoming two at a zoo. But they had formed a special connection with Elsa. They decided to release her to the wild and started the difficult journey of teaching her to fend for herself. After a lot of setbacks including a lack of hunting skills, being attacked by a warthog, and even becoming seriously injured after a different attack, Elsa found her feet. With a lot of hard work and dedication, they taught her how to be a wild cat and set her free in Kenya. Elsa grew to have cubs of her own, starting a new generation of lions that would have never been.
In the sculpture, Elsa stands on a 1961 landrover surrounded by orphan cubs, 20 in total. There are also two couples of adult lions, George and Joy, and Bill and Virginia, representing the real-life couple who raised the little orphaned Elsa, and the actors who played them in the movie. The cubs symbolise the future generations of lions.
If you purchase any of the lions, 30% will go directly to the Born Free Foundation.

Description Gillie and Marc were one of three artists commissioned to create a unique billboard mural as part of a series for the MINI Paceman.

Artwork Features Gillie and Marc’s latest work is an exciting explosion between their painting and sculpture. With a love for both 2D and 3D work they have created a unique style of work which are in essence sculptured paintings.
Gillie and Marc spent a lot of their early creative life in Ubud, Bali. This was the home of painted wood carvings. They began to collect many Balinese wood carvings and learned how to artistically paint wood. Over the years they experimented in relief woodcuts looking to give it a contemporary feel. Much of their inspiration is looking at traditional art forms like bronze sculpture and wood carving and then creating ways to make it contemporary.
They are excited and proud to introduce their latest and favourite collection “Woodcut POP". These are carved wooden panels primed and sealed and then painted with a pop gloss enamel. These vibrant and exciting works allow the 2D paintings to fly off the wall giving excitement and dimension to wall art. Rabbitgirl and Dogman literally pop off the wall in a 3D effect. The modern explosion of colour and vibrancy is contemporary art at its cutting edge.
Galleries, collectors and corporates across the globe have already fallen in love with Woodcut POP with 10 major commissions now in progress.

Description "Nia, the disappearing Nyala deer" is a captivating painting that captures the essence of the endangered African Nyala deer. The focal point of the artwork is the Nyala deer, facing the camera with a gaze that conveys both vulnerability and resilience. Behind the deer, a moving silhouette in pastel colors represents the gradual disappearance of these magnificent creatures. The use of loose flowing brushstrokes and the juxtaposition of vibrant hues together with the pastels create a sense of urgency and fragility. This painting serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to protect and preserve these endangered species before they vanish forever.

Description Artists Gillie and Marc Schattner, on August 26, Women’s Equality Day 2019, are bringing to life a dream, the move towards equal representation in women statues.
In a moment of deep self-reflection, they realized they had been contributing to the lack of women representation in their public art. However, the artists decided they could not sit back and let history repeat itself. Something has to change, and so with their new project, ‘Statues for Equality’, they have self-funded ten new women statues.
Because of this project, New York is becoming the first city to change the dynamics considerably - as the ten women are launched as statues the number will jump from 3% to 9%. The project will launch at RXR Realty’s iconic Avenue of the Americas.
Joining ‘Statues for Equality’ are ten portraits of each woman in a groundbreaking new show that expresses diversity and gender equality. Exhibiting alongside their permanent statue sisters at 61 Broadway, NYC, they will be on show for the public for 12 months. The women are painted on fabric from around the world, just as they as women represent the diversity of womankind, as does the soft materials that embody strength. Each piece has its own texture, shape, and feel.
The women’s faces are depicted in black and white, revealing the fine attention to detail from the artists; each line becomes part of the narrative of the portraits. However, their hair and clothes are full of colour and patterns. Flowing from the women they extend these versions and ideals of how women present themselves in society.
The use of fabric can take literal meaning; even though the material is soft, beautiful, and used as a way to express individuality. Fabric is also a carrier, babies are held close to us in wraps of material; goods and objects are transported for when we cannot hold everything; and it dresses us, for warmth and support.
The metaphor extends into the roles of women, and Gillie and Marc’s clever use of this medium, reminds us again, how important women are to our lives and the basis of society. Fabric is also another way to show our individuality.
Just as the ten women statues, made out of bronze, who will stand larger than life can teach us something about diversity and gender equality; as can these softer, tender moments of intimate and feminine representatives.
For the next 12 months, Gillie and Marc are aiming to paint 100 women, voted for by the public, who inspire greatness in our societies.
#womenforequality will become an extension of #statuesforequality – use the hashtag to vote for the most inspirational women you know, and take a photo with the paintings and statues to share Gillie and Marc’s message of equality.
Artwork Features Mixing two elements together, paint and fabric, these fabric paintings create a unique, 3-dimensional piece of art. With added texture, patterns, and depth from the fabrics, these paintings are transformed into something so much more exciting than a normal painting. Using beautiful fabrics from all over the world, these paintings are laced with fun, using patterns and colors in unusual places giving a different perspective on how things should look.

The textured layers capture both the strength and grace of the animal’s spirited leap. Every sweep of colour reflects vitality, courage, and the untamed force of nature. This artwork celebrates movement and freedom, turning raw paint into living power.
Artwork Features Abstract art is one of the freest styles, a style where the artists are not bound by the limitations of reality and can let their imaginations and emotions run wild. In their first abstract collection, Gillie and Marc have created a wonderland of colour, creating scenes of the world around them in a way that transcends the traditional. Inspired by the great abstract artists such as the Delaunays, Kline, and Kandinsky, Gillie and Marc have evoked a celebration of colour and joy, showcasing their emotions in a vibrant scene that is both beautiful and unique. Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
Care Instructions It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.

Description In the deep jungle, high in the trees an unlikely goddess sleeps. Completely hidden by her ingenious spots she’s able to completely relax. But her life is not always so carefree. She is threatened by the actions of humans. They hunt her, destroy her home, and even steal her children to keep as pets. Now, she is coming down from the safety of the trees to ask for your help. Will you protect Nila?
Artwork Features Sending you to a world of luxury and opulence, this range of gold leaf paintings shows Rabbitwoman and Dogman and all wildlife at their finest. Inspired by the ancient methods of gold leaf and the more contemporary styles of Gustav Klimt, Gillie and Marc are showing the loving journeys of their favourite muses and all endangered wildlife with an extra bit of sparkle. Gold leaf sheets are carefully laid onto the canvas, brushed, and smoothed out, adding a wonderful, glittery effect to its surface. Gillie and Marc believe that every moment can be a luxury. This idea is brought to life in these paintings, with even the simplest moments becoming incredible.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.

Description "Created by artist-activists Gillie and Marc and Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Warung artist Jandamarra Cadd, the statue captures a powerful and determined Peris. Cadd also painted the portrait of a bare-footed Peris that sits in Parliament House. Peris was the first Indigenous woman to be elected to parliament and represented the ALP in the senate for the Northern Territory for three years.
The artists said there were multiple layers to the statue. The saltwater crocodile and the blackheaded python represent Peris’ totems on her mother and father’s sides. Three native hibiscus flowers, the flowers of the stolen generation, are symbolic of her mother and grandparents, who were forcibly removed from their parents. At Peris’ feet are her hockey stick and Olympic gold medal. Peris swapped hockey - for which she had won an Olympic gold medal with the Hockeyroos - for athletics and managed to remain at the top of her game.
“Most statues are of people on a podium, or a square box, but I didn’t come out of a square box, my life has been one of resilience and strength", Peris said. “That’s why I wanted it to have me running over Country. It’s rugged.”
At the unveiling, Peris’ children Destiny and Jack said they had not seen their mother in her sporting endeavors but they had witnessed her advocacy in Indigenous health, education and human rights. “There was not a dry eye ... when they spoke,” Peris said. “I want people to see that statue, young Australians particularly, to know you’ve got to have your dreams and aspirations and to know that with hard work and discipline, you can achieve anything in life.”
Awarded the Order of Australia in 1997, Peris is an official ambassador for the Australian Aboriginal Education Foundation, which provides scholarships for Indigenous students. Later in the year, the statue will move to her hometown of Darwin."

Description Gillie and Marc have gone through a lot of change and growth during their expansive career. They like to try new things and are always up for a challenge. But one thing that has remained steady and constant is their passion for animal conservation. The artists created Now and Forever for Tasmania’s Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. The sculpture is a showcase for three endangered species – the Tasmanian devil, the Eastern quoll and the Tasmanian bettong – who desperately need protection. “The director of the wildlife sanctuary came to us and explained how much danger these animals were in,” says Gillie. “He commissioned three sculptures because his goal is to do something about the ignorance concerning these near-extinct animals, and their importance to Australia.” The artists chose to have the three animals cuddling and hiding behind one another as a way to highlight their vulnerabilities. What we do for these beautiful creatures today, will impact their lives forever.
